Hello Yuletide Author! I apologize for taking so long, but here is my letter. I'm glad it and you are here!

The squicks section (which is the same as my other letters, just so I don't miss anything) will go first. Please no rape or torture, unless it’s just alluded to or mentioned - nothing explicit or the focus of the story, please. I'd also like a limit of "gross-out" elements like gory details and bodily fluids. Or completely grim stories, though these sources do have grim parts and that's part of the appeal. I'd rather the sadness not be relentless and total. Unless it's symbiotic with the story you want to tell! Gen, het, and femslash are all fine, but my preference is that m/m slash not be the focus of the story, since I’m not really interested in it. Please no ship or character bashing. I'm good with AUs or crossovers, or holiday-fic for holidays that are canonical or could plausibly be canonical. Though if it's an AU there would be different rules as to canonical holidays. Any combination of the characters is cool, or even alone.

Thank you in advance for gifting me a story, and I hope this letter makes it easier and/or more enjoyable for you. Apologies for being late to unlock it!

First I'll get squicks and dislikes out of the way. I'm good with AUs or crossovers, or holiday-fic for holidays that are canonical or could plausibly be canonical. Though if it's an AU there would be different rules as to canonical holidays. Any combination of the characters is cool, or even alone.

As for the fandom prompts! I've been immersed in some of these more recently than in others, and those are the ones that get me rambly because they haven't had as much time to settle in and I remember details better. I've also requested W.I.T.C.H., Spellsong Cycle, and Romeo x Juliet on several occasions (for Yuletide and Rarewomen), with the same characters except for the addition of Elyon to the W.I.T.C.H roster. So you can look to old letters if you wish. Lastly, the types of prompts turned out pretty similar, but they're only to provide a jumpstart if one is necessary. I'd be interested in stories different from the kind suggested here!

I can't believe I put it off so long, but I've finally nominated fandoms for this year's Yuletide.

For anyone reading who might want to do the same but hasn't heard of this, it's a small/rare fandom fic exchange, and the nominations close 11 1/2 hours from now. This year you can nominate up to three fandoms and up to four characters.

I nominated two of my usual fandoms--Romeo x Juliet and the Spellsong Cycle books--and a new one, the Cinders visual novel. It had already been nominated, so I just added characters: Sophia, Gloria, The Fairy, and Madame Ghede.

Dear Yuletide Author,

Thank you for giving me a story. I hope you will like doing it, and that this letter will be of use. Sorry for the wait in unlocking it!

First, my squicks and and dislikes. Please no rape or torture, unless it’s just alluded to or mentioned – nothing explicit or the focus of the story, please. Or completely grim stories, though these sources do have grim parts. I'd rather the sadness not be relentless and total. Unless it's very, very fitting for the story! Especially as Haunting of Hill House is one of my requests. Gen, het, and femslash are good, but my preference is that m/m slash not be the focus of the story, since I’m not really interested in it.

I don't mind AUs or crossovers, or holiday-fic for holidays that are canonical or could plausibly be canonical. Though if it's an AU there would be different rules as to canonical holidays. Any combination of the characters is cool, or even alone. Now onto fandoms! I read or watched some of these canons more recently than others; those sections of the letter are bigger because I remember more details to make suggestions. Also, some bits are the same as from the letters for previous exchanges. They’re all more fill-in-the-gaps types of prompts than not, but those are just for ideas! I will love other stuff as well.

ETA: I decided to post up the super long RomeoxJuliet list. It's long because it's the most recent of my fandoms, so I remember more or less what happens in every episode and could share my thoughts more specifically; I could also rely on what I wrote for my last watch to check for errors. I ended up interspersing my thoughts with summaries of the relevant scenes. Sorry to make you wait, dear writer! And for making this so long.

Dear Yuletide Author:

Thank you for writing me a story. I hope you will enjoy writing it and have a wonderful holiday. I also hope that this list will help and not hinder you.

So, since I think I put up most of the fic details intended for the letter into the signup optional details, I’m going to go a little into what I see the canons and characters as.

I have to say, I prefer the anime with regards to designs and the fight scenes. But the art is cute, sometimes really pretty, and the cuteness of how Juliet and Romeo are drawn emphasizes their innocent love. Also I love the color pages.

So, RomeoxJuliet. The visuals are very pleasing. The subs could have been better written, with less use of the words somehow and totally in awkward ways. Totally was only used twice, but it completely took me out. The music is superb; it's stuck in my head, especially You Raise Me Up. Now let's do some character mapping.

Roundup of Thoughts - Characters )

Roundup of Thoughts - Plot and Themes )

So, I've been typing this since like six and a half hours ago, with only a couple of breaks that make up 54 minutes if combined, and half an hour doing other Internet things. My fingers and my eyes hurt a bit. I thought I might not have that much to say, but then again, I think I knew I didn't since I dreaded how long I'd take. It's been great fun writing it all out, going over the series again and finally expressing everything I felt, even if no one reads it. Though I hope to find somewhere to post it so someone will read it and give feedback. These are pretty long, more due to the flowing of my thoughts and some self-involvement than to the work I put in editing it. Of course they do have some editing; that's part of why they're so long.

So I finished roughly two hours ago, and finished writing my thoughts a few minutes later. Then I stopped to watch parts of Fellowship of the Ring because my brother had it on. I was about to feed my cat who keeps interrupting this process but he just went to finish his food. Here we go.

21-24 )
Cut because I go off on several tangents, although they are related. Also overuse of the word "I" and the comma.

17-20 )
Cut for length, overuse of the comma and the word guy.

13-16 )
