Most of my experience is with choice games--for example, like Alabaster, The Book of Guenevere, Affairs of the Court, visual novels like Oxenfree and Cinders, dating sims like Long Live the Queen and Magical Diary , and paper books where you turn to a page for every choice--but I’d be delighted with a parser game too. Puzzles, mazes, and timers aren’t a strength of mine, so I would enjoy a walkthrough if those are present.

I was fascinated by how there are old ballrooms in Liedwahr, and how dancing is generally seen as a no-no, but with variations; Alvar, who was originally in the Neserean army, seemed to find it distasteful, but for Jecks it was an abomination. Then Secca says the old books classed it with Darksong because it affected the body. I'd love to see more on this topic, whether there are secret subcultures that still practice it--with or without spellsong--or more old texts, or perhaps even a history of dancing set in the future, tracing the evolution of how it's been seen.
WB: Spell-Fire Wars (Spellsong Cycle)
They are invoked constantly throughout the series, and we learn a little more about them when visiting Ranuak, but I'd love to know more. An account of a battle perhaps, and its terrible magical effects on land and people, or a look at the part the ancient Matriarchs of Ranuak played in it, or what they did in the immediate aftermath. What if there was a lost record from someone of what it was like to live after the land was poisoned or turned into sand?
WB: The secret magic of the Matriarchs of Ranuak (Spellsong Cycle)
The balance the Matriarchs seem to keep between not using magic in public, but being trained to employ it for select occasions, and then being willing to help others outside of Ranuak to do magic for their land's benefit, is so interesting! I imagine the Matriarchs are the ones who teach their successors, and that this is part of why they don't necessarily have rulers whose parents were also Matriarchs, because they need someone who can be taught. It'd be great to see something about that process, or about the mysterious chair that Secca can sense isn't quite what it seems.

There was organized, hierarchical order to practice magic they had; what happens now that they don't? What about other people's magic--is there now a power gap they can fill? When Letitia thought of white people, what did she mean exactly? Who was she including, and who might've been excluded at the time?
