The A-plot of the series and Marina's subplot inevitably made me think; what if it were Marina Simon was helping out of a tricky and potentially compromising situation instead of Daphne? He finds out and promises to take care of her. Maybe they do marry too, and Simon comes to think of taking in her kid as a different way of fulfilling his vow to his father--since the bloodline he was so concerned with would still lose the title. Either way, I enjoy the idea of them falling in love. And I feel that, between Marina's initial resistance to Lady Featherington's pressure and Simon's determination to avoid the pressure to marry, they would appreciate each other.

When I saw Lady Danbury trying to get in during the childbirth, and how much Simon's mother was suffering, I immediately thought "what if Lady Danbury could have swept her away at some point?" The tragedy of that loss and Lady Danbury's anguish really struck me. What if they ran away before this could happen, and lived together instead? Simon's mother could be still be married, or married and pregnant, and they raise Simon together, or they could have managed to run off together before the marriage happened. They could be very sweet and romantic together.

Ah, I super miss them. They're one of the wonderful things about the show; this very tense, repressed relationship and how they come to a better space and more vulnerability. Plus they have a soul connection! Their confrontation with Michael trying to find him was great, as was that little moment of Michael noticing something was up after Philippa asked to meet with him in season one, and he distracted her with a genuine interest in her emotional state. I'd love something about how their relationship could have gone forward if Michael hadn't had to leave. Or maybe something with that moment in the second season finale when Michael returns to give the last signal--can Sarek feel her?
Group: Michael Burnham/Ash Tyler (Disco)
I loved their empathetic chats in season one, that he was part of Michael opening up and finding her place in the crew, and how much they clung to each other in the mirror universe. The time loop getting them together was so much fun, and it was so tragic that they had to handle the safe place they became for each other changing, with the extent of how Ash was violated and how it took Michael's ability to trust in him. I enjoyed them starting to find their peace with things, and the narrative irony of her falling in love with someone who was part Klingon. I'd be into seeing how things could've gone if Michael hadn't had to go, or if he could've gone with her.
Group: Michael Burnham & Crew of the Starship Discovery (Disco)
I'm very interested in the changing dynamics of Michael and the crew! Like they're wary of her at first, and then she finds a place with them, and it's so warm. But she continues to feel herself apart from them in a way, in the sense that she sees herself as having to save everyone; I love the moment when they tell her they're going with her into the future and she's just so astonished. Anything set during these seasons, from Michael at another party, to a quiet moment on the job, to just working out or relaxing with a hobby, is something I'd be happy to receive. Feel free to focus on her relationship with whichever particular crew member you choose, or go with her place with the crew as a whole. If you haven't seen season three of Discovery, stop reading now.

Then she ends up alone for a year anyway, and there's love but they don't know how they fit or how to think about each other. And it's so interesting that this leads up to her being captain--there's a sort of balance in the role, being part of your crew but also being the one who ultimately makes the decisions for them. How does her experience of having been alone, not because she was "the enemy" as she once saw herself, but because of circumstance, and knowing she was loved, inform her behavior with them before and after becoming their captain? What does her leadership look like? How does the balance of the personal and the impersonal work out, with, say, her being Tilly's roommate, and of course the whole situation with her sending Paul away and risking people he loved? What about her goodbyes with Saru before he leaves?
Tilly tells her she let them go during her year apart. Maybe a peek at the process?
Mirror Michael Burnham
We finally get to see her face! And she was so alive in her cruelty, her ferociousness, her determination to carry out the coup no matter what the cost. I'd love to see anything; the confluence of her wanting to strike out against her mother and be the master of the empire the way she was the master of the trash sheep with her attraction to Lorca, who fed her ego. I'd love to see a moment from some point in her trajectory, whether her time as an orphan, her early days with Philippa, or her later desire to flex her power and desire to have it in her own right, not just as the emperor's daughter and favorite. How did she perceive those nights of nightmares and sleepwalking afterwards? How did she decide listening to Lorca would serve her purposes? How did she see Philippa as weak even before her return to the mirror universe? Philippa said killing her would have been her Michael's greatest honor; did Michael feel that way when that confrontation happened and killed them both?
Group: Mirror Philippa Georgiou/Michael Burnham/Cleveland “Book” Booker
I really enjoy how comfortable Michael and Book are with each other, the ease in their rapport and understanding. I also really enjoy the tensions Michael has with Philippa, and how in the third season they come to a place where they both see each other more fully, with more of the relationship being tied to who they are and not as much as to who their other selves were. It feels like part of that is the distance of the year Michael spent with Book, adapting to a time that Philippa sees as more Terran and giving her distance from that fraught relationship, while Philippa comes to like Michael's idealism and principles. I just think they'd make a great, hot team on an adventure, and that the other two's different but not entirely dissimilar understandings of Michael, along with how they can get what the other means to her, would be interesting to see play out in a ship.

With Keyla telling Michael she was the best of them, them taking out the other supporters of the coup, and finally Michael killing her to fool Philippa while still intending to follow through with their plan, I became so invested. I love that tangle of loyalty and pragmatism in their dynamic. What if they both knew Michael was going to kill her, accepting Keyla's death with the thought that Michael would carry out their goals later? Or how about something from the earlier, plotting stage of the coup? Or recruiting--Michael recruits Keyla and seduction is involved, or it's not but they sleep together anyway.
Group: Cleveland "Book" Booker/Michael Burnham
They are so comfortable. I love that Michael has someone to rely on when alone, whether literally because she's alone in the future or because she hasn't found a way to fit back in with her crew. I love Book, with his inmense literal and figurative empathy and his desire to help others, coming to find another way of doing that with Starfleet. The way they poke fun at each other is delightful. They're also both so hot! So, adventures in the year we didn't see? Them learning to get into a routine with each other? Michael watching Book be a cat parent, or him watching her try to interact with Grudge.

A log for an average day on board, or an exciting one. Or maybe a day of shore leave!

They get off to a dramatic start; I'd love to see the crew dynamics start to settle in, and Nyota finding her place among them. Maybe something with them interacting in between the end of the plot with Nero and their graduation, or a calmer adventure after the end of the movie? What's it like the first time she enters the recreation room of the Enteprise? Five things she learned because someone told her and one she had to find out for herself--or the other way around!

I'd love to see their time as roommates, chatting about hobbies like we saw a glimpse of in the movie, working out arrangments for when they want someone to come over, discussing ambitions and hopes and what brought them to Starfleet. Or just a socializing at a bar; we see Nyota being friendly with people and at ease in one, so maybe she takes Gaila to her first Earth bar?

These two are wonderfully intimate and hot and I love how much they convey "established relationship" from what the audience gets to peek at. I'd love to see more moments of them being sweet with each other, whether subtly or overtly, alone or in front of someone else. Maybe they're on leave and go to New Vulcan, or it's shore leave on another planet and they make the time for a bit of fun there. Or, maybe Nyota goes to Vulcan before it was destroyed, and meets one or both of his parents?

Her first experience of the really weird things that happen to that ship's crew! I'd love to see her finding a place with them, whether in the context of a calm moment or when everything is (figuratively or literally) on fire. Or just a relaxing moment with them after they all know each other.
Nyota Uhura (TOS)
I love her energy and charm, how confidently she manages herself socially and professionally, how at ease she is as a performer. It'd be great to see her on a particularly satisfying day at her normal job, or as captain (acting or not), or taking charge during an adventure. How about a log of a day in her life, or a look at a day on spent on leave? How about a point where she considers whether she really wants a career in Starfleet--what gets her to commit (or re-commit) to that life? What drove her to decide she wanted to go into the unknown parts of space to explore?

I enjoy what seems to be a comfortable dynamic, where her teasing is gentle and he likes it. There's some attraction there I'd love to see that explored, but I'd also love them just being at ease in the rec room or at the job, trusting in each other's character and abilities to see them through their part of the day. Does she ever go to Vulcan with him? Maybe she persuades him to take shore leave and they have an adventure, or a quiet day.

I love Gwen's mixture of kindness and firmness, and would enjoy something that let her display those qualities--and her cleverness too. What about a peek at her ruling Camelot after the show? 5 things she didn't do after and one thing she did do? How does she manage the transition towards ruling alone and becoming a widow? A moment of her being able to be happy after all the events in the series? Does she ever chat with Merlin after? An scene with one of her friends and family at any point in her life would be cool too: maybe something relaxing or joyful or just a quiet moment.

They could be so sweet and romantic. I'd love anything of one of them taking care of the other, physically or emotionally. And the plot with her being a deer he shot at unawares got me thinking of Swan Lake, the story with the swan maiden almost being shot by a prince--so how about leaning into that? What if they were both actually aware of what had happened and had to deal with it? And/or the curse is a little different than what's in the episode: maybe she can return to human form at a certain time, or breaking it involves them needing to do something and not just be saved with Merlin's secret help, or both?

I'd just love to see them meet somehow! Comparing their different first experiences with the Enterprise, generally just looking at each other as if at a mirror, different but the same. Maybe an older Nyota gets stuck in the AOS universe with the younger version of herself too, or something happens which means they can see each other in dreams, while they remain present in their respective universes. Or it's the AOS Nyota who ends up in the other universe, and they have to send her back.
Group: Evelyn Carnahan (The Mummy Movies)/Nyota Uhura (Star Trek TOS)
They'd be so fun and charming together! They could nerd out over languages, or lead a research team or expedition. I'd be happy with a crossover in which one of them time travels, or a fusion in which Evelyn is in space and the Enterprise gets caught up in one of her adventures. Alternately, something the Enterprise is doing requires that they bring in Evelyn; maybe she's even part of the crew as an archaeologist! They could have a lovely time chatting one evening, trading stories, or sleeping by a fire.
Group: Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) & Nyota Uhura (AOS)
Both are determined to be great at what they do, Ahsoka with the Jedi and Nyota with Starfleet, though of course that turns out very differently for them. Ahsoka knows how to speak Shyriiwook, which doesn't seem to be very common in the even among Jedi, and she can translate an old Sith language, so I'd like to think they could bond over being a little nerdy about language. Also, some aspects of the Jedi, like the importance of serenity, are a little like Vulcan thought, so it'd be neat to see her interact with someone who's a bit Vulcan-like but definitely not Vulcan. They're also just warm, fun people with a bit of snark; they could have an exciting adventure together if their paths crossed!

I love the theme of Michael meeting different versions of her loved ones, and it would be so exciting if she got to meet a brother who wasn't her brother! There's a chance the Klingons didn't go after her biological family in the other universe, and he never had a sister in it. How would they react to each other, her feeling she has a brother she can't reach for entirely different reasons than her struggle with her Spock, him learning that in another life he had someone else to share his struggle of being both human and Vulcan, if in a different way? Maybe a moment of her learning what happened to Vulcan and grieving with him?
Group: Inara Serra (Firefly)/Nyota Uhura (Star Trek TOS)
The Enterprise ends up escorting and hosting diplomats every once in a while; why not a Companion? Maybe there's something that would make it convenient for all parties, and then Inara ends up sitting in on one of Nyota's performances, enjoying something that's done just for fun and not part of a job. Or something with them enjoying a relaxing bath together. Or there's an incident with one of Inara's clients, the Enterprise gets involved, and they get a chance to know each other while it's resolved.

The A-plot of the series and Marina's subplot inevitably made me think; what if it were Marina Simon was helping out of a tricky and potentially compromising situation instead of Daphne? He finds out and promises to take care of her. Maybe they do marry too, and Simon comes to think of taking in her kid as a different way of fulfilling his vow to his father--since the bloodline he was so concerned with would still lose the title. Either way, I enjoy the idea of them falling in love. And I feel that, between Marina's initial resistance to Lady Featherington's pressure and Simon's determination to avoid the pressure to marry, they would appreciate each other.

When I saw Lady Danbury trying to get in during the childbirth, and how much Simon's mother was suffering, I immediately thought "what if Lady Danbury could have swept her away at some point?" The tragedy of that loss and Lady Danbury's anguish really struck me. What if they ran away before this could happen, and lived together instead? Simon's mother could be still be married, or married and pregnant, and they raise Simon together, or they could have managed to run off together before the marriage happened. They could be very sweet and romantic together.

Ah, I super miss them. They're one of the wonderful things about the show; this very tense, repressed relationship and how they come to a better space and more vulnerability. Plus they have a soul connection! Their confrontation with Michael trying to find him was great, as was that little moment of Michael noticing something was up after Philippa asked to meet with him in season one, and he distracted her with a genuine interest in her emotional state. I'd love something about how their relationship could have gone forward if Michael hadn't had to leave. Or maybe something with that moment in the second season finale when Michael returns to give the last signal--can Sarek feel her?

I loved their empathetic chats in season one, that he was part of Michael opening up and finding her place in the crew, and how much they clung to each other in the mirror universe. The time loop getting them together was so much fun, and it was so tragic that they had to handle the safe place they became for each other changing, with the extent of how Ash was violated and how it took Michael's ability to trust in him. I enjoyed them starting to find their peace with things, and the narrative irony of her falling in love with someone who was part Klingon. I'd be into seeing how things could've gone if Michael hadn't had to go, or if he could've gone with her.

I'm very interested in the changing dynamics of Michael and the crew! Like they're wary of her at first, and then she finds a place with them, and it's so warm. But she continues to feel herself apart from them in a way, in the sense that she sees herself as having to save everyone; I love the moment when they tell her they're going with her into the future and she's just so astonished. Anything set during these seasons, from Michael at another party, to a quiet moment on the job, to just working out or relaxing with a hobby, is something I'd be happy to receive. Feel free to focus on her relationship with whichever particular crew member you choose, or go with her place with the crew as a whole. If you haven't seen season three of Discovery, stop reading now.

Then she ends up alone for a year anyway, and there's love but they don't know how they fit or how to think about each other. And it's so interesting that this leads up to her being captain--there's a sort of balance in the role, being part of your crew but also being the one who ultimately makes the decisions for them. How does her experience of having been alone, not because she was "the enemy" as she once saw herself, but because of circumstance, and knowing she was loved, inform her behavior with them before and after becoming their captain? What does her leadership look like? How does the balance of the personal and the impersonal work out, with, say, her being Tilly's roommate, and of course the whole situation with her sending Paul away and risking people he loved? What about her goodbyes with Saru before he leaves?
Tilly tells her she let them go during her year apart. Maybe a peek at the process?
Mirror Michael Burnham
We finally get to see her face! And she was so alive in her cruelty, her ferociousness, her determination to carry out the coup no matter what the cost. I'd love to see anything; the confluence of her wanting to strike out against her mother and be the master of the empire the way she was the master of the trash sheep with her attraction to Lorca, who fed her ego. I'd love to see a moment from some point in her trajectory, whether her time as an orphan, her early days with Philippa, or her later desire to flex her power and desire to have it in her own right, not just as the emperor's daughter and favorite. How did she perceive those nights of nightmares and sleepwalking afterwards? How did she decide listening to Lorca would serve her purposes? How did she see Philippa as weak even before her return to the mirror universe? Philippa said killing her would have been her Michael's greatest honor; did Michael feel that way when that confrontation happened and killed them both?

I really enjoy how comfortable Michael and Book are with each other, the ease in their rapport and understanding. I also really enjoy the tensions Michael has with Philippa, and how in the third season they come to a place where they both see each other more fully, with more of the relationship being tied to who they are and not as much as to who their other selves were. It feels like part of that is the distance of the year Michael spent with Book, adapting to a time that Philippa sees as more Terran and giving her distance from that fraught relationship, while Philippa comes to like Michael's idealism and principles. I just think they'd make a great, hot team on an adventure, and that the other two's different but not entirely dissimilar understandings of Michael, along with how they can get what the other means to her, would be interesting to see play out in a ship.

With Keyla telling Michael she was the best of them, them taking out the other supporters of the coup, and finally Michael killing her to fool Philippa while still intending to follow through with their plan, I became so invested. I love that tangle of loyalty and pragmatism in their dynamic. What if they both knew Michael was going to kill her, accepting Keyla's death with the thought that Michael would carry out their goals later? Or how about something from the earlier, plotting stage of the coup? Or recruiting--Michael recruits Keyla and seduction is involved, or it's not but they sleep together anyway.
Group: Cleveland "Book" Booker/Michael Burnham
They are so comfortable. I love that Michael has someone to rely on when alone, whether literally because she's alone in the future or because she hasn't found a way to fit back in with her crew. I love Book, with his inmense literal and figurative empathy and his desire to help others, coming to find another way of doing that with Starfleet. The way they poke fun at each other is delightful. They're also both so hot! So, adventures in the year we didn't see? Them learning to get into a routine with each other? Michael watching Book be a cat parent, or him watching her try to interact with Grudge.

I'd enjoy seeing her take the lead on an expedition requiring her skills, being a captain (acting or not), or just doing her part aboard the Enterprise while pursuing her own hobbies or keeping up with her field. A log for an average day on board, or an exciting one. Or maybe a day of shore leave!

They get off to a dramatic start; I'd love to see the crew dynamics start to settle in, and Nyota finding her place among them. Maybe something with them interacting in between the end of the plot with Nero and their graduation, or a calmer adventure after the end of the movie? What's it like the first time she enters the recreation room of the Enteprise? Five things she learned because someone told her and one she had to find out for herself--or the other way around!

I'd love to see their time as roommates, chatting about hobbies like we saw a glimpse of in the movie, working out arrangments for when they want someone to come over, discussing ambitions and hopes and what brought them to Starfleet. Or just a socializing at a bar; we see Nyota being friendly with people and at ease in one, so maybe she takes Gaila to her first Earth bar?

These two are wonderfully intimate and hot and I love how much they convey "established relationship" from what the audience gets to peek at. I'd love to see more moments of them being sweet with each other, whether subtly or overtly, alone or in front of someone else. Maybe they're on leave and go to New Vulcan, or it's shore leave on another planet and they make the time for a bit of fun there. Or, maybe Nyota goes to Vulcan before it was destroyed, and meets one or both of his parents?

Her first experience of the really weird things that happen to that ship's crew! I'd love to see her finding a place with them, whether in the context of a calm moment or when everything is (figuratively or literally) on fire. Or just a relaxing moment with them after they all know each other.
Nyota Uhura (TOS)
I love her energy and charm, how confidently she manages herself socially and professionally, how at ease she is as a performer. It'd be great to see her on a particularly satisfying day at her normal job, or as captain (acting or not), or taking charge during an adventure. How about a log of a day in her life, or a look at a day on spent on leave? How about a point where she considers whether she really wants a career in Starfleet--what gets her to commit (or re-commit) to that life? What drove her to decide she wanted to go into the unknown parts of space to explore?

I enjoy what seems to be a comfortable dynamic, where her teasing is gentle and he likes it. There's some attraction there I'd love to see that explored, but I'd also love them just being at ease in the rec room or at the job, trusting in each other's character and abilities to see them through their part of the day. Does she ever go to Vulcan with him? Maybe she persuades him to take shore leave and they have an adventure, or a quiet day.

I love Gwen's mixture of kindness and firmness, and would enjoy something that let her display those qualities--and her cleverness too. What about a peek at her ruling Camelot after the show? 5 things she didn't do after and one thing she did do? How does she manage the transition towards ruling alone and becoming a widow? A moment of her being able to be happy after all the events in the series? Does she ever chat with Merlin after? An scene with one of her friends and family at any point in her life would be cool too: maybe something relaxing or joyful or just a quiet moment.

They could be so sweet and romantic. I'd love anything of one of them taking care of the other, physically or emotionally. And the plot with her being a deer he shot at unawares got me thinking of Swan Lake, the story with the swan maiden almost being shot by a prince--so how about leaning into that? What if they were both actually aware of what had happened and had to deal with it? And/or the curse is a little different than what's in the episode: maybe she can return to human form at a certain time, or breaking it involves them needing to do something and not just be saved with Merlin's secret help, or both?

I'd just love to see them meet somehow! Comparing their different first experiences with the Enterprise, generally just looking at each other as if at a mirror, different but the same. Maybe an older Nyota gets stuck in the AOS universe with the younger version of herself too, or something happens which means they can see each other in dreams, while they remain present in their respective universes. Or it's the AOS Nyota who ends up in the other universe, and they have to send her back.

They'd be so fun and charming together! They could nerd out over languages, or lead a research team or expedition. I'd be happy with a crossover in which one of them time travels, or a fusion in which Evelyn is in space and the Enterprise gets caught up in one of her adventures. Alternately, something the Enterprise is doing requires that they bring in Evelyn; maybe she's even part of the crew as an archaeologist! They could have a lovely time chatting one evening, trading stories, or sleeping by a fire.
Group: Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) & Nyota Uhura (AOS)
Both are determined to be great at what they do, Ahsoka with the Jedi and Nyota with Starfleet, though of course that turns out very differently for them. Ahsoka knows how to speak Shyriiwook, which doesn't seem to be very common in the even among Jedi, and she can translate an old Sith language, so I'd like to think they could bond over being a little nerdy about language. Also, some aspects of the Jedi, like the importance of serenity, are a little like Vulcan thought, so it'd be neat to see her interact with someone who's a bit Vulcan-like but definitely not Vulcan. They're also just warm, fun people with a bit of snark; they could have an exciting adventure together if their paths crossed!

I love the theme of Michael meeting different versions of her loved ones, and it would be so exciting if she got to meet a brother who wasn't her brother! There's a chance the Klingons didn't go after her biological family in the other universe, and he never had a sister in it. How would they react to each other, her feeling she has a brother she can't reach for entirely different reasons than her struggle with her Spock, him learning that in another life he had someone else to share his struggle of being both human and Vulcan, if in a different way? Maybe a moment of her learning what happened to Vulcan and grieving with him?
Group: Inara Serra (Firefly)/Nyota Uhura (Star Trek TOS)
The Enterprise ends up escorting and hosting diplomats every once in a while; why not a Companion? Maybe there's something that would make it convenient for all parties, and then Inara ends up sitting in on one of Nyota's performances, enjoying something that's done just for fun and not part of a job. Or something with them enjoying a relaxing bath together. Or there's an incident with one of Inara's clients, the Enterprise gets involved, and they get a chance to know each other while it's resolved.
