Dear author,

I am so sorry for the lateness of this letter! It’s alright if you don’t use it; the prompts and thoughts are only there in case you would like them. Feel free to discard them and do what you will. Please ignore the amount of words in any given prompt; I’d be so happy to receive anything for my requests. Thank you in advance for writing for me!

Chronicles of Narnia - C. S. Lewis

Note: I’ve read all the books and have seen the first two Disney movie adaptations: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian. I have never seen Disney’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, or any other adaptation. I don’t mind if you wish to draw from them, I’d just prefer that the fic not rely on me knowing any details from them.

With regard to the freeform worldbuilding tags: sometimes I say something about them in regards to a specific ship, and if I don’t I end up saying something about them in a paragraph after discussing the ships. This doesn’t mean I don’t want those tags used in a way I didn’t prompt! It just means my thoughts worked out that way when I was writing this letter. Please do as you wish with the tags and, as I said at the top of the letter, ignore anything I wrote in my prompts if that’s where your writing takes you.

Zardeenah (Narnia)

Zardeenah sounds very interesting! What is it like to be in service to her, to have her be your patron goddess? What if a woman were to be devoted to her for life? What does she offer, and what does she ask for in return? She’s “Lady of the Night”; what else is in her domain? Could she be a goddess of secret knowledge, witchcraft?

Aravis Tarkheena
I’d love to know more about Aravis and her relationships! She’s bold and open-minded and good. How did she get used to Archenland? Did she employ her storytelling skills at court? Would she enjoy infusing the Calormene style of storytelling with the Archenland and Narnian styles? Did she build the support network she lacked (aside from what Hwin and Lasaraleen could provide) during her life in Calormen?

Group: Hwin & Aravis Tarkheena

What was it like for her and Hwin before Hwin revealed she could talk? Hwin made the effort to save her, and it seems Aravis didn’t have anyone else looking out for her in her youth. Maybe a scene of their escape, or the planning thereof? Or maybe during one of Hwin’s visits to Anvard.

Group: Aravis Tarkheena & Lasaraleen Tarkheena

With Lasaraleen—how did they come to be friends? Lasaraleen helps and protects her despite their disagreements; I can imagine her taking that role more than once, and perhaps Aravis being someone who can override her inclinations and make her look at things differently than she otherwise might, even if on the whole she’s content to live her life as is. What do they think of each other and where they ended up after The Horse and His Boy?

Group: Lucy Pevensie & Aravis Tarkheena

I like to think Aravis and Lucy could be friends; they’re both brave and loyal, and willing to break away from the ideas about the world which they grew up with more easily than the people around them are, as seen in Lucy’s steadfast belief as the first Pevensie in Narnia and Aravis being willing to escape there pretty quickly. Did they ride together, once Aravis went to live in Archenland? Were they pen pals?

Group: Ramandu’s Daughter | Liliandil/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

I like the idea of Ahsoka, a person in tune with the Force and infused with the avatar of its light side in the Daughter, with Ramandu’s Daughter. Two beings connected to light, and, of course, the stars. What if Ahsoka’s retreat from being an active player in galactic events happened not on Malachor, but on the island? She came to Malachor seeking knowledge, and she went back there in need of figuring out her place in the galaxy—what does she find on the island, with a woman who possesses the wisdom of the Stars?

Group: Aslan & Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars) & Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

What if Anakin and Ahsoka go on another adventure involving encounters with the divine? They already have a bond that’s shared through something divine—the Force—not to mention him putting the Daughter inside her to resurrect her—and then there’s how they both question their place in the galaxy, and themselves. Maybe he appears to them, and they don’t know what it means, but they follow. If in the Rebels era, maybe the experience on Malachor ends very differently for both of them, and meeting Aslan and going on a quest brings them to a place they didn’t imagine they could get to at this point in time. Or perhaps it’s after Anakin is dead, and Aslan helps Ahsoka meet him. I ship Ahsoka with Anakin, but I also love their platonic relationship and would be happy with either. I wanted to let you know in case you’d be interested in one or the other!

Group: Rilian/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

I like how there’s an echo of Vader in this; it’s not the same, but Rilian lost the life with the people he loved and was drawn into the service of an evil being. Ahsoka can’t free Vader, because he has to do it himself and he’s not able yet, but maybe she can help this man. She’d see him and have compassion. Perhaps they could have adventures afterwards, and she might be able to help advise him upon his father’s death, as that’s a role we’ve seen her take in Star Wars.

Group: Lucy Pevensie/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They’re both spunky, brave, and merry girls who are good in a fight. They’re also willing to have faith and follow a path despite the doubts of others and the safety in choosing what is known, though they also find it possible to doubt themselves and be afraid. I think they’d like each other. What kinds of adventures might they have? Does Ahsoka maybe accompany her on a mission out of Narnia, or meet her as they’re both on the same quest?

Group: Caspian X/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Given that Jedi in Star Wars end up accompanying political figures, and Ahsoka has some experience mentoring them (see the Mon Calamari prince), it might be interesting to see her at Caspian X’s side. On his part, he’s rather more open-minded about Narnia and fascinated by stories of it. I could see him being intrigued by her. She could be AU’d into the setting, as a follower of the old ways, perhaps, or she could be sent there to help him.

Given the way the World Between Worlds exists as a place which literally connects all places and times in Star Wars, and how it was inspired by the Wood Between the Worlds, it’d be interesting to try to connect the two! Maybe the Star Wars universe exists in one of the pools? Or these two places work similarly enough that it’s possible to walk from one into the other. Or something else that strikes your fancy!

Game of Thrones Crossovers

Group: Ramandu’s Daughter | Liliandil/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT),

With the movements of the Stars in Narnia associated with predicting the future, and Daenerys’ visions and the prophecies she’s connected with, and the physical similarities, it’d be interesting to see her with Ramandu’s Daughter! What knowledge does she possess? Could her island provide a place of rest for Daenerys? Would she be willing to be Daenerys’ consort?

Group: Hwin & Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)

Given Daenerys’ affinity for magical creatures and how they were part of her journey into freedom and power, it’d be interesting if she met Hwin, who saved Aravis and in doing so saved herself. What if Hwin had been given to Daenerys? Or Daenerys’ travels intersected with those of Aravis and Hwin as they attempted to flee Calormen?

Group: Caspian/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)

I really like thinking about how Caspian X is the heir to a line that conquered Narnia but is there to free it under his rule, and how Daenerys is the heir to a line that conquered Westeros but wants to free those she sees as oppressed, while planning to rule them; it’s interesting, that overlap between the power they’ll have and what they want to give others. What if they met as young monarchs? Or perhaps, given the Targaryen’s ancient connections to magic, the family and its return to power is something the Telmarines fear...but not Caspian. If she’s the one who replaced Jadis instead of the Pevensies, and the horn is set to call her...or maybe she’s someone he meets while exploring beyond Narnia.

Group: Peter Pevensie/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)

Peter is a warrior king, and Daenerys rides her dragon to battle. They both have a sense of responsibility for the people under their care, and it’d be interesting to see them explore the conflicts of leadership and living according to their ideals. I also like the thought of Peter, who’s so protective of his younger siblings, meeting Daenerys, who was both raised by and abused by her older brother. It feels like there’d be some potential for him wanting to take care of her and Daenerys not really being used to that, but also having her sense of boundaries mixed up by being both a queen and sexually abused. Maybe they meet during a diplomatic visit?

Group: Aslan & Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)

Daenerys believes her dreams come true, and she’s willing to have faith, as when she stepped into the pyre with her dragon eggs. She’s so confident and feels like she must make her dream happen. She’s also lost and trying very hard to be a good leader to the people who depend on her, while struggling with the morality and effects of her actions. It’d be interesting to see her interact with Aslan, who can be stern but also kind, and a comfort. She would believe in him, I’m certain, but what would come of it? What would he say to her, and how would she come to understand it?

As Valyria is like Atlantis, in the sense that it was a doomed city with power beyond what the rest of the world knew both before and after its destruction, it might be interesting if Daenerys was of the blood of Atlantis, or if they were one and the same. Maybe the magic they had, which eventually resulted in the magic rings that led Digory and Polly to Narnia, is something Daenerys has, which enables her to travel between worlds.

Group: Susan Pevensie/Buffy Summers (BtVS), Group: Susan Pevensie & Buffy Summers (BtVS

I think it could be fun to play off the similarities between Buffy and Susan. They’re both associated with the conventionally feminine, with beauty and its concerns, only their stories have different trajectories—Buffy going from this as part of her attachment to the normal world and into a wider supernatural world but missing it and trying to hold onto it; Susan going from that wider supernatural world and integrating it with adulthood, only to end up focusing on this as part of her leaving that wider supernatural world behind. They also both have a maternal sort of role, taking care of their loved ones. What if Buffy wound up in Narnia during the Golden Age and did something dashing for Susan, or which impressed her? Maybe Susan’s horn called her.

Group: Lucy Pevensie/Buffy Summers (BtVS)

Lucy is this golden-haired, laughing, bold girl with a kind heart, and so is Buffy. They can fight and they can heal, and I think they could have fun together! They’ve also both experienced knowing that something is true but not being able to convince others who need it proven to them. What if Buffy showed up on one of Lucy’s trips to Narnia and they had adventures? What if Buffy’s first brush with the supernatural was not with vampires, but with Narnia?

Group: Rilian/Buffy Summers (BtVS)

The idea of Rilian being caught and enchanted into fighting for a witch isn’t quite the same as Buffyverse vampires losing their human empathy and doing evil, but I feel like there’s enough similarity between him going into the underworld and being freed and the way Buffy’s paramours become evil before becoming who they’re meant to be, that I would enjoy seeing how this ship might come about. What if traumatized Buffy in L.A. came across him, with the portal in “Anne” leading to Bism instead of the hell dimension? Maybe Buffy can free him, or they can meet later and have adventures which let them get to know each others’ histories.

Group: Buffy Summers (BtVS)/Aravis Tarkheena

Aravis and Buffy have some potential parallels to explore! They were both raised with a degree of privilege above others, with a father who does not do his job by them, and neither of them end up quite fitting the life they used to know. Aravis was a haughty noblewoman and Buffy a proud mean girl, but they both have good hearts, and they’re both brave and loyal. It could be fun if maybe Aravis met Buffy on her travels, with Buffy running away too—with Buffy AU’d into the Narnian setting or just being the girl from Earth she is, however you like.

With regard to the freeforms—it might be interesting if the Deep Magic were at work with Buffy’s sacrificing herself in Dawn’s place, and it meant she had to come to Narnia rather than ever go back home. Or perhaps Bism can be accessed by someone worshipping the Lady of the Green Kirtle, and she enslaves Buffy instead of/along with Rilian? Buffy has so many dimensions it would be easy to find a way to get her to Narnia, or even the other way around.

Gwendolen (Narnia)

Gwendolen being the first of the schoolchildren to notice Aslan and run after him in Prince Caspian always stuck with me. She strikes me as a bit of a Telmarine Lucy. What was her life like, after her choice? How did she feel—like the rest of Narnia, was this a kind of awakening to herself?

Ramandu’s Daughter | Liliandil

Ramandu’s Daughter being part Star has always been intriguing to me. What do Stars do? Stars at rest? How did she pass her days on the island, before any visitors came? How did she adapt to marriage and queenship? What knowledge does she possess? Does she make friends with the Centaurs, given their stargazing and the prophetic knowledge derived from it?

Polly Plummer

That Polly was writing a story in the attic is interesting. I’d like to see her writing stories later on, or telling them aloud. If she writes them, does she keep them to herself? She keeps in contact with the other Friends of Narnia; give me five things she told them and one she didn’t, or the reverse. Or what if she wound up going into one of the pools before Digory got to her? Charn, or some other world.

Queen Helen (Narnia)
I’d love to hear more about Helen’s rule of the new world of Narnia. How does she bring her experience from country life and then working class life to her approach? How does her marriage to Frank transform? Who does she befriend?
Original Female Characters of Color (from Earth)

I’d be happy with whichever ethnicity/culture you’re interested in exploring; if you would like me to suggest one to narrow it down, what about a girl or woman of Caribbean descent, whether as part of a diaspora or still an island girl? What if she found a portal to Narnia in the sea, and entered the world via the Sea of Lilies? Or through some other magic? What if she ended up being the child Andrew got to try on a ring, or she found the ring some other way?

The Wood Between Worlds and the Sea of Lilies are two of the images that have really stuck with me since I first read the Narnia books. I’d love to hear stories about them, and people who encounter them.

Again, thank you so much for your work! I hope you have a fun exchange experience!
