They’re both so resilient and brave and snarky. They are both lost to themselves and to the world sometimes, but they persist in living and eventually finding meaning and purpose in their fight again. They’re unconventional and independent and caring and that’s what saves them, and what makes them good leaders who inspire others and connect to them in terrible circumstances. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream—they’re both psychic that way—or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe in this case it’s actually something like the hunting game Ahsoka got caught in during The Clone Wars, and this time they’re trapped together! Escaping and bonding ensues.
Bo (Lost Girl)/Buffy Summers (BtVS)

Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)/Yvaine (Stardust 2007)
Yvaine watches the world, and is not part of it; Ahsoka is part of it, but meant more to help here and there as a Jedi than to take a role in galactic affairs. They both love adventure and action, even if Yvaine has never known it before falling from the sky. They’re both wanderers, and mystical beings of a sort: Yvaine the star, Ahsoka what’s left of the Daughter, the embodiment of light. If you go with the book version of Stardust, they can never be among their kind again, and they continue after the people they love most are gone; there’s a breath of loneliness to them.
What if Stormhold is a planet, and Ahsoka comes to consult—and to grieve—with its ruler? Or maybe she just comes to investigate some strangeness associated with it. Or Ahsoka is an immortal being, coming to join the land of Faerie after the long ago events of her life, and meets Yvaine on an adventure there? Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?

Arya Stark/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
I like the parallels here—two girls with families overthrown/deemed enemies, traveling and learning how to survive in environments and situations their birth would’ve otherwise protected them from, able to connect and empathize with people from the lower classes. And, of course, there is the willingness to take vengeance. What if Arya had met her instead of staying in the cities?
Olenna Tyrell/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
Margaery Tyrell/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
I keep wondering, what if Daenerys had been well-established enough earlier that the Tyrells might look to allying with her even before Cersei burned those bridges re:alliances with her family? It would be interesting: their methods for getting into power are different in that they’re physical violence versus manipulation, hard power versus soft, but each girl relies on making the people feel uplifted, like they would benefit from having her as queen. And we know with Daenerys there’s a real empathy and idealism mixed in with her seeking power—what kind of team might she and Margaery make?
Daenerys Targaryen/Brienne of Tarth (GoT)
Ever since reading Gwendoline Christie mention hoping they’d get together, I can’t stop thinking about them. I feel like Daenerys would respect an honorable woman doing her best to live up to the ideals of knighthood in the face of sexism and a world in which the institution can be corrupt. And I think Brienne would respect a queen enduring the hardship and odds Daenerys has faced, in her struggle to both lead and make the world a better place.
Cersei Lannister/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
The hate sex would be tremendous! What if Daenerys came back to Westeros sooner, and marriage was seen as a way to keep Cersei safe and in power? Or Cersei used Missandei as a hostage to lure Daenerys in close, hoping to kill her more subtly so as to have a better chance, but things develop differently from how they both intended? Assuming she didn’t kill Rhaegal as well. And I hear in the books that Cersei had wanted Daenerys’ brother Rhaegar; I’m show-only, but feel free to use that if you like.
Yara Greyjoy/Ellaria Sand/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
Yara Greyjoy/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
I really enjoyed Yara’s flirting and Daenerys not seeming to mind. And Yara fits with Daenerys’ history of love interests—Drogo leading their Dothraki, who are raiders—but she’s different, and they’re meeting in different circumstances. They also both know what it’s like to be the more worthy ruler in the family while dealing with the threat of a relative who isn’t. What if they had just gone ahead and attacked King’s Landing? What kind of relationship could happen in the fallout?
Ellaria Sand/Daenerys Targaryen (GoT)
They’re ambitious, they’re determined, and they know what it’s like to start from a difficult place, though their lives have been quite different. Vengeance against a ruling family is difficult, but they’re up for it to take what’s theirs. In a world in which Ellaria doesn’t get captured, what happens once they take King’s Landing together?

Darla/Buffy Summers (BtVS)
This is something I’d have loved to see more of in the show. They both captivated and kickstarted Angel into a new life, they both, in a way, killed him. Darla pretends to be Buffy’s student friend; what if she’d done more with that? What if she’d developed an interest in figuring out what made Buffy dangerous to them? Maybe Buffy gets a chance to investigate her in return, and develops a fascination, and/or dreams of her. Or what if she’d survived—if she’d ended up being chipped by the Initiative instead of Spike—it’d be fun to see her trying to play both sides, and Buffy reconciling her issues with her with the fact that she’s, in one way at least, helpless? Maybe she’s around in season six and sees potential in Buffy’s depressive state. Alternatively, Darla’s plans after becoming a vampire again involve handling Buffy so that she can’t be a threat again—except it goes differently than killing her. If inspiration strikes, feel free to use Drusilla with these prompts as well, or combine any of these with the Drusilla/Buffy prompts below.
Tara Maclay/Buffy Summers
I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since Tara held a crying Buffy on her lap in “Dead Things.” I love Buffy’s accidental slipups—she doesn’t set out to confide in her or open herself up, mired as she is by then in feeling she has to be strong alone, but she responds to Tara and feels safe talking to her. You can see it even before that, as early as “The Body” when they talk about their mothers’ deaths. I also love the moment when Buffy takes the lead and stands up for Tara in front of her relatives, when Tara is feeling vulnerable and terrified of rejection. And then Tara seems to echo that chivalry later, when Buffy is uncomfortable with Spike but can’t fend him off herself because she’s distraught. I’d love to get a missing scene from season six after Buffy had that breakthrough, when it seemed they were getting closer. Or an alternate universe where Tara lives, but Willow still goes dark for a bit, and they need to recover. What if Willow manages to bring her back, and Buffy helps her cope?
Buffy Summers/Kendra Young
I so wanted to get more of them. They’re wary and competitive, but they respect each other; Kendra can appreciate Buffy’s different take on things and Buffy’s sense of duty grows as the season goes on. I like to think her later reaction to Faith’s loose canon quality is because of all the deaths she couldn’t prevent in season two, and especially to honor Kendra’s sense of responsibility and the stake she now carries in her memory. Maybe Buffy gets Kendra that stuffed animal after all—does she do it in person or does she mail it over with a note? What if Kendra returned to Sunnydale much earlier, like around the time the Judge was being put together? That seems worthy of a visit—what would have changed if she had? Or if she’d survived Drusilla?
Jenny Calendar/Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Wishverse Tara Maclay/Wishverse Buffy Summers
Buffy Summers/Maggie Walsh
I really enjoyed how Buffy found a new mentor in Maggie, and seemed to really look up to her; I’d have loved to see that explored longer. Maybe a little more cat and mouse with regard to the Initiative and the Slayer, before they find out who they are; meanwhile Buffy keeps enrolling in Maggie’s other classes, or visits her during office hours anyway for advice. Alternatively, Maggie is less ready to dispose of Buffy than in canon, because she sees potential in the Initiative having control of her; maybe as Buffy herself grows less interested in Riley and more in Maggie. Or, tell me more about Maggie’s pov when she was watching Buffy and Riley have sex after a fight.
Kennedy/Buffy Summers (BtVS)
Drusilla/Buffy Summers (BtVS)
These two get paralleled quite a bit! Both fixations of Angel, both psychic and isolated from society in their power. Buffy dreams of Drusilla around Angel, and Drusilla sees her around Spike. Drusilla is delighted at the thought that Angel will to do Buffy what he did to her—and I understood that to be both breaking and turning her. What if she’d played a more active role in bringing that about? Does she want a new pet? Or perhaps later, when she and Darla are trying to get Angel, then Spike back; maybe this time she wants to get Buffy too, finds it fitting after Buffy had so much to do with what happened to the other vampires in her family. On Buffy’s side, she’s disturbed to hear what Angel did to Drusilla—she must think of it afterwards when he’s torturing her. What’s going through her mind then? Does she dream of Drusilla, past and present—and possibly future? What if Drusilla came back when Buffy was hitting her lows in season six? If inspiration strikes, feel free to add Darla to these prompts, or combine them with the Darla/Buffy prompts above.

Miraj Scintel/Ahsoka Tano (SW: TCW)
What if Ahsoka didn’t need to break her cover? What kind of interactions might they have had? Miraj found her attractive, but rebellious. Still, she seemed into strength. What arrangement would she try to make with Ahsoka, if Ahsoka proved her strength to her?
Or, you could go AU with it. The Zygerrians and the Togruta seem like they might’ve had an interesting history together. What if the Zygerrian empire, or its remnants, were still powerful, and Ahsoka was sent there by the Togrutas as a tribute, or a peace offering, and/or part of an arranged marriage to protect Shili from being enslaved? Or maybe Ahsoka really was taken by a slaver as a child instead of the real Jedi—the early designs for that impostor Jedi eventually became the Zygerrians—and ended up in Miraj’s court, a valuable slave and/or bodyguard thanks to her Force abilities?
Barriss Offee/Ahsoka Tano (SW: TCW)
Kalifa/Ahsoka Tano (SW: TCW)
They got so little time together, but it was so sweet. Kalifa felt hopeless, but Ahsoka helped her find herself again, to be able to imagine and try for more than survival. What if it had worked? I’d love to see Ahsoka reuniting with her while Kalifa is recovering from her long captivity, or them recovering together. Or maybe they’re both in battle together. Or they both survive Order 66, Kalifa finds Ahsoka when she’s running and hiding and pretending not to be who she is—just as Kalifa once did—and now it’s her turn to do the comforting and inspiring.
The Daughter | Winged Goddess/Ahsoka Tano (SW: TCW)
The transfusion of life from The Daughter could be fun to play with. Maybe Ahsoka becomes immortal. Maybe she has to outlive everyone she ever comes to know, and not just because they all got killed in the various wars going on. Or she ascends into godhood the more enlightened she becomes, with her own power and experience melded with The Daughter’s, and there comes to be a temple with her image somewhere. What if she sees her in dreams? Maybe The Daughter becomes another teacher to her alongside Anakin. Or she watches her, always connected, but Ahsoka isn’t wholly aware of it until later—maybe in Malachor, when she seems to stop participating in worldly matters and instead delve into the mystical side of the Force more deeply.
Ahsoka Tano/Asajj Ventress (SW: TCW)
They start out in one place and end up in quite another, betrayed and eventually losing all their kind to the war and the Sith. They both turn to the underworld to cope: Ahsoka goes a little more criminal as a smuggler, even if she still does good deeds, and Asajj is willing to show mercy instead of just ruthlessly going after the money as a bounty hunter. I love how Asajj sees herself in Ahsoka, despite their former status as enemies, and Ahsoka being willing to plead her case. Their partnership is one of convenience, but they’re open to the idea that there’s more going on with the other than they thought. What if for some reason Ahsoka did stay with the Jedi, at least long enough to try to help Asajj out with them, or one of them sought the other out after she left? Maybe they run into each other on separate missions, or team up for one, and it leads to more reevaluation of where they stand? I could see Asajj occasionally helping Ahsoka out when it comes to protecting children from the Sith.

Medium: Fanfiction
