I love the mirroring that goes on between these two in who they are and how they choose to live their lives, and I love the synergy they have, how quickly they get over Anakin’s initial shock at being assigned a student because he recognizes that they would fit. They have so many adventures both together and apart, and thus so many opportunities to pine.
They’re both physical people who like to take care of each other—what if that blurs emotional boundaries when they have feelings? Or they miss each other. Or because Ahsoka left, Anakin doesn’t think she would want to see him again, as she’s cutting him out of her life as part of her choice to stay away from Jedi life. Maybe he thinks that and she’s thinking at the same time that he wouldn’t want to see her again now she’s disappointed him. What about a scene of physical care after a separation, like checking the other over for every wound and sticking around at their bedside, and neither Ahsoka nor Anakin (or just Ahsoka) even really notice the pining because this is what they do for each other? But then control over the emanation of their feelings in the Force slips a bit. Or that slip in control is triggered by an external situation, leaving one or both confused and off-balance.

I love the star-crossed nature of their story in Rebels, how Vader wants to see Ahsoka but hates the idea of her seeing him as Anakin, while Ahsoka hates to see him as Vader but wants to stay with him when she sees him as Anakin.
I also loved the brief mental reunion when they found out the other lived, with Ahsoka’s horror and Vader’s complete shift in focus from destroying the fleet to capturing her alive. Most of the arc is Ahsoka grappling with the truth and her own baggage, and we only get a little of Vader’s reaction, but I love what we do get and more would be excellent. When they do meet, Vader turns off his lightsaber and offers mercy, though he knows she won’t just give up easily, and then he knocks her out; he doesn’t seem to be fighting to kill until her promise to stay breaks something inside. So what was he thinking, then? He knew they had to meet again, but what did he think would happen? He seemed to be baiting her into anger; did he think he could get her over to the dark side? Does he think he can net her as an ally if he gets time with her? What if they’re forced to rely on each other?

They both try to reach a dark-side user they see more in, and succeed, only to be betrayed by him, and they both face the hard choice of letting him go and coming in to their potential themselves, without any help. What if Ahsoka walked through another portal, when she knew it was time? Or perhaps she learned how to become a Force Ghost and that is the version Rey meets on a dream quest? Or maybe Ahsoka has become ageless, in a sleep-like trance under Malachor’s ruined Temple, until Rey goes there and wakes her up? What if they dream of each other across time? Maybe Rey, feeling alone in the galaxy, taps into a connection to another girl left alone when the Jedi were first snuffed out.

One of the most intriguing get-togethers that hasn’t happened. In their own ways, they each represent Anakin’s legacy, and they have their own relationships to that and to him. Ahsoka is his path not taken, having faced her own capacity for darkness when she wanted vengeance and chose against it, and Kylo Ren believes he is continuing his work by choosing against his capacity for goodness; as they both turn away and leave him behind, they continue on their paths, one to remove herself from the galaxy at large until she is needed and the other to dominated it in an attempt to fulfill his own needs. Does Kylo Ren ever find out his grandfather had an apprentice? What if he met her on some pilgrimage to Malachor? Or, in a universe where Anakin survived and Ben Solo still became Kylo Ren, would Kylo Ren find them together, and perhaps come to a different choice? Or maybe he finds Ahsoka in a sleep-like trance in the ruins of Malachor, and waking her leads to her being able to ward off Snoke’s influence? Maybe she trains him instead of or in addition to Luke, or a repentant Ben finds her when he’s trying to put what’s left of his destruction into a new life. What if they dream of each other across time? Maybe his trying to connect to his grandfather’s dark side leads him to visions of Ahsoka being his friend, Ahsoka fighting him, and his grandfather’s tortured feelings around her as Vader.

Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe she ends up on Tatooine instead, or he and/or Shmi got taken there at some point from Tatooine, and they escape together. Then they bond! Maybe they’ve been dreaming of each other all this time without knowing, being a comfort to each other. Maybe when Buffy died, they connected on the astral plane, and then she’s pulled back to life…
