Dear X-Ship Writer,

Thanks so much for offering for my ships! I’m sorry for the lateness of this letter; hopefully it helps if you need it, but I don’t want you to feel bound to the prompts I give. I’ll be happy with your own ideas for the ships!

Parallels (and contrasts) between characters and their journeys are a thing for me.

I like characters looking out for each other and rescuing each other, giving care and emotional support. Especially when women are the ones receiving care and support, getting their needs made a priority by their loved ones.

Canon divergence and role reversals are loved, though I also enjoy other AUs.

Here are some more things I enjoy: fusions, vignettes, character studies, plotty stuff, angst, fluff, smut, adventure, characters talking to each other, character focus in smut, enemies to lovers, friends/lovers to enemies to lovers/friends, pining, worldbuilding, quiet character moments, bittersweet endings, happy endings, open/ambiguous endings, quiet and subtle romance, the total opposite of quiet and subtle romance—these fandoms do have a high drama quotient, psychological horror, cunnilingus, messy and complicated dynamics, blurring between obligation/need and love, fear/horror/anger mixed with desire/love, politics, isolation, competitiveness, competitive smut, limited agency, legacy, manipulation, scheming, ulterior motives for sex, Force bonds, Force shenanigans, Force Ghosts, time travel, weird worlds/dimensions, time moves differently, scars, suspense, undercover, undercover as a couple, mission fic, teaching games, compromised sense of self, interpersonal tension, duty versus desire, love/hate, possessiveness, insecurity, secret relationships, secrets, the divine as sex, using the Force for sex, choking, breathplay, bloodplay, biting, scratching, Ahsoka’s fangs, growling, blindfolding, chains, trust issues, implicit trust, emotional intimacy, casual displays of affection, shared beds, snuggling, sitting/lying in laps, jumping people, stories where the woman/women are a significant part of the man/men’s characterization, stories where the woman/women are a significant part of each other’s characterization, characters gathering each other’s backstory a little at a time, investigating each other, spying, sex and violence paired together, fucking in the same room as your enemies’ corpse, body heat sharing, loneliness, connecting to the force together mutual pining, dreams, fix-it, parallel universes, parallel universe characters, us against the world, outside pov, story/fragments of story as told in-universe, ghosts, ghost sex, feeling each others sensations during sex, IF/interactive fiction, poetry

DNWs:

permanently dead female characters (where she’s not even a ghost), the concept of Anakin and Ahsoka as a father/daugher relationship, mpreg, detailed gore, detailed description of bodily fluids and excretions, watersports, scat, emetophilia, noncon (except if requested/prompted)—dubcon is fine, rape (except where specified below), a/b/o, rule 63’ing female characters, body horror, explicit torture, permanently damaging torture, maiming, mutilating, bashing of characters or ships, unrequited love (except if it's only unrequited in a characters' head), unrequested ships (though mentions are okay), stories where nobody really cares about the woman/women in the ship, m/m outside of m/m/f ships, focus only on m/m interactions, a story where the f/f or m/f is secondary to the m/m, AUs which don't use canon settings, underage (17+ is fine, whether you change canon ages or set things when the characters would be 17+), ageplay/infantilization, humiliation (except if requested/prompted), bestiality, Jedi Order as evil/immoral (versus deeply flawed institution, which is is good), oviposition, monster sex, tentacle sex

Caveat: Referencing something in that list which happened in canon is all right. I’d just rather not it be a main feature in the story.

Moving onto fandoms: this is a Frankenletter, like most of mine, and some of these ships are previous requests while others are entirely new. The length of the sections does not in any way correspond to desire; any of these things will make my day. Onwards!

Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

One of the most intriguing get-togethers that hasn’t happened. In their own ways, they each represent Anakin’s legacy, and they have their own relationships to that and to him. Ahsoka is his path not taken, having faced her own capacity for darkness when she wanted vengeance and chose against it, and Kylo Ren believes he is continuing his work by choosing against his capacity for goodness; as they both turn away and leave him behind, they continue on their paths, one to remove herself from the galaxy at large until she is needed and the other to dominated it in an attempt to fulfill his own needs. Does Kylo Ren ever find out his grandfather had an apprentice? What if he met her on some pilgrimage to Malachor? Or, in a universe where Anakin survived and Ben Solo still became Kylo Ren, would Kylo Ren find them together, and perhaps come to a different choice? Or maybe he finds Ahsoka in a sleep-like trance in the ruins of Malachor, and waking her leads to her being able to ward off Snoke’s influence? Maybe she trains him instead of or in addition to Luke, or a repentant Ben finds her when he’s trying to put what’s left of his destruction into a new life.

Rey (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

The concept of these two meeting is great! Ahsoka is touched by the light side, both in her choice to live in it and in how its very essence gave her back her life. Rey awoke to her power as the dark side rose. They both try to reach a dark-side user they see more in, and succeed, only to be betrayed by him, and they both face the hard choice of letting him go and coming in to their potential themselves, without any help. What if Ahsoka walked through another portal, when she knew it was time? Or perhaps she learned how to become a Force Ghost and that is the version Rey meets on a dream quest? Or maybe Ahsoka has become ageless, in a sleep-like trance under Malachor’s ruined Temple, until Rey goes there and wakes her up?

Qi'ra (Solo: A Star Wars Story)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Both of these women are forced to make difficult choices: Ahsoka despairs but finds hope and purpose again, while Q’ira believes her life is the only one there can be for her. I’d love to see them clash; maybe Ahsoka gives Q’ira hope, whether or not she chooses to treat it as real or as a fairytale. Or Ahsoka accepts Q’ira’s choices but still tries to reach out and support her when they cross paths during their adventures, even if they’re on opposite sides. Q’ira thinks the only way to come out on top is to advance in her organization. To that end, when she hears of a Force user fighting for the Rebellion/doing good deeds, she investigates and tries to pit her against Maul. Alternately, Ahsoka picks her up/has the Rebellion pick her up when she’s younger, and they meet again later, with Q’ira being a Rebel contact buried in the criminal world. Or maybe she winds up back with them for real, making her next meeting with Ahsoka fraught.

Kaeden Larte (Star Wars EU)/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars PT)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Ahsoka loves them both a lot. I love her missing Anakin and I love how meeting Kaeden is part of her regaining the sense of purpose and belonging she lost when she left him. I’d love some AU where Anakin is on the run too and they welcome him into their relationship, or perhaps Anakin was with Ahsoka when she hid on Raada. Or perhaps not, and Vader goes there knowing he’ll find Ahsoka, and Ahsoka has to juggle the safety of Kaeden and her newfound friends with the need to go see him and figure things out; she’s already the mystery woman who’s friendly but keeps at a certain distance due to her past, and such a situation would only amplify that.

Cassian Andor (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

They started out life on opposite sides during the Clone Wars, very young--although the difference of Ahsoka being fourteen and Cassian being six is significant--and end up being vital to the Rebellion: Ahsoka as an early leader who founded the spy network, Cassian as a leader who took the name she created and stole the Death Star plans. The other thing that interests me is that Ahsoka, while not Jyn, did need some convincing to join the Rebellion, after a year of just being on the run and doing disorganized good deeds that went against the Empire on the way. And that's after walking away from her position in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Whereas Cassian got into this when he was a child and never looked back. He was certain of the cause and clung to that, where Ahsoka did not.

As the person who ran the spy network for most of the years between the rise of the empire and a New Hope, I like to think Ahsoka would have known of Cassian and perhaps even met him, before he adopted the name she created--Rogue One is only a few years after the events of Rebels, if I understand things right. Or just go AU with it. If Cassian was ten years older during the Clone Wars, might he have encountered Ahsoka directly, or indirectly? How would that work if they met again within the Rebellion? Or if he were an ISB agent and she were a Sith? what if she had been a Separatist too? If the CIS had won the war, could they both be high in the government? Or maybe just one of them, while the other is part of this AU’s Rebellion?

Jyn Erso (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

They know what it’s like to have to put survival first, before finding purpose again with the Rebellion. It’s something they might recognize in each other. What if the place Saw takes Jyn’s family to is Ahsoka, and she hides them? Or Jyn meets Ahsoka while Ahsoka is dealing with the Partisan cell of the Rebellion, and leaves with her instead of being alone? Maybe Ahsoka joins Jyn when she’s taken to get to Saw, in hopes of increasing the chances that he’ll see them, and that’s how they meet? Or it’s Ahsoka who picks Jyn up from the Imperial prison. What if Ahsoka was part of the Partisans, and they had a bittersweet relationship? Maybe Jyn is Force-sensitive and Ahsoka teaches her how to make a lightsaber out of that kyber crystal.

Enfys Nest (Solo: A Star Wars Story)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Having lost everything to the Empire, one way or another, they both find purpose in fighting it. Enfys focuses on the criminal element, Ahsoka protects Force-sensitive children while dealing with the more official face of the Empire. What if Ahsoka was the one who brought Enfys into the wider Rebel Alliance? Or they meet through Saw, and they clash because Enfys prefers Saw’s tactics? Maybe Enfys hears about this Force-using Rebel and they end up playing games of cat and mouse trying to find out who it is/who’s investigating Ahsoka, until they meet with a healthy respect for the other. Or they meet when one of them is still lost in their grief, and they help each other find a place in the galaxy fighting for the right thing. Maybe Ahsoka finds out about Maul long before Malachor and, in the process of fighting him/taking down the Crimson Dawn, teams up with Enfys to take care of their shared problem.

Finn (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Time travel shenanigans with Malachor. (Remembering Kylo Ren's idea in The Force Awakens that clones might be more loyal gives me a thought: maybe Finn has or develops an awareness of the history behind the creation of these armies?) I think it'd be interesting, considering Ahsoka was a leader in a clone army, and Finn is a stormtrooper who got himself free, for them to come into contact. Especially as Ahsoka became disillusioned with the whole thing and was treated as an enemy of the state, first by the Republic and then by the Empire. Like Finn, she found her purpose again in fighting through getting close to others. Also, I don't conflate the sides, but the Jedi take children and raise them in a specific way, and so does the First Order (in a much more brutal and depersonalizing way), and the very creation of the clones is brutal even if the Jedi are nicer about it than the First Order is with their troopers.

Poe Dameron (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Ahsoka would be a legend by now, and I really like the idea of her having authority over Poe—or sway if she’s not an official part of the Resistance for whatever reason. What if she’s one of his heroes? Meanwhile, his being a hotshot pilot could give her a little nostalgia. She could keep an eye on him, but not really mind. Maybe she’s just come back from Malachor, and it’s the future, and she’s willing to help the Resistance once they’ve all confirmed who they are (perhaps with some help from Leia or Chewie). Or she’s one of the allies in the Outer Rim, having returned from the Unknown Regions, and he might’ve been sent to her; alternately, she saves them at the eleventh hour and they have an encounter in a brief moment of downtime.

,
Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars EU)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)/Rey (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy), Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars EU)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU) & Rey (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)

I love Rey and how she is much like Anakin and Ahsoka both, in different ways. Her desert upbringing, her loneliness, the way she stays for people who have done her wrong. Think of how she won’t leave Jakku until Finn comes back for her on Starkiller Base, and how Ahsoka promises Anakin she will never leave him, and how Ezra comes back to save her from him; think of how they both see something in Anakin and Kylo Ren respectively, and are both betrayed by them. Ahsoka and Rey are the bright to Anakin and Kylo Ren. Given Rey’s propensity to get into vision-triggering situations, what if she had one of Anakin and Ahsoka? What if she wound up in a timeless space like Mortis or The World Between Worlds, and had a chance to interact with them, or go back in time? Or maybe their ghosts come to visit her, perhaps as part of or the end result of a dream-quest.

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars EU)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)/Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars ST), Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)/Darth Vader (Star Wars EU) & Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars ST), Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)/Darth Vader (Star Wars EU)/Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)

Both Ahsoka and Kylo Ren have interesting relationships to Anakin, and they are both his legacy in different ways. Ahsoka is his path not taken, his bright mirror, everything good about him that survives and outlives even his physical presence in the galaxy. Kylo Ren is an attempt at continuing his dark path before turning back to the light, a deliberate choice to refuse what he feels is the light, where Ahsoka had to struggle with her darkness and desire for vengeance before transforming into the figure of light we see at the end of Rebels. Does he know his grandfather had a student? Would he go on a pilgrimage to Malachor and find her there, or find echoes that lead him to her? Perhaps both Ahsoka and Anakin are still around, physically or as Force Ghosts, and they find him, or he finds them? Or maybe he gets sent back in time, observing their relationship and being taken into it—or wanting to be included in it; or he just gets glimpses of them through the Force, perhaps dreaming, wanting to be a part of that. Alternately, the Empire never fell and Ahsoka never came out of Malachor, until Vader’s heir starts to have dreams...

Star Wars/Something Else

Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)/Yvaine (Stardust - Any) Amalthea (The Last Unicorn - Any)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Angel (Angel the Series)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Michael Burnham (Star Trek: Discovery)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU) Missy (Doctor Who)/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Thirteenth Doctor (Doctor Who)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars) Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones) Michael Burnham (Star Trek: Discovery)/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars), Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV), Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)/Yvaine (Stardust - Any)

Yvaine watches the world, and is not part of it; Ahsoka is part of it, but meant more to help here and there as a Jedi than to take a role in galactic affairs. They both love adventure and action, even if Yvaine has never known it before falling from the sky. They’re both wanderers, and mystical beings of a sort: Yvaine the star, Ahsoka what’s left of the Daughter, the embodiment of light. If you go with the book version of Stardust, they can never be among their kind again, and they continue after the people they love most are gone; there’s a breath of loneliness to them.

What if Stormhold is a planet, and Ahsoka comes to consult—and to grieve—with its ruler? Or maybe she just comes to investigate some strangeness associated with it. Or Ahsoka is an immortal being, coming to join the land of Faerie after the long ago events of her life, and meets Yvaine on an adventure there? Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?

Amalthea (The Last Unicorn - Any)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

This came about because Amalthea being a Unicorn forced into a mortal body and Ahsoka having the avatar of the Light Side put into her them a potentially interesting pair. That and how they both experience being the last of their kind, what it’s like to have to change in the face of that, the refusal to let it be true in their search for others. They also both exist somewhere in-between two categories of being: the Unicorn after Amalthea knows love and regret, Ahsoka throughout her life knows and accepts her attachments even as she lets them go.

They’re both beautiful, wise, mystical beings touched by ordinary life and yet living apart from it. I’d love anything that works with that.

Maybe the Unicorn’s forest is a whole planet, or some sacred untouched place far from the center of the galaxy. Maybe Ahsoka is pulled in during her travels, or instead of going back to Malachor from the World Between Worlds? Or you could AU Ahsoka into the setting, have her be a wandering knight and mystic the Unicorn or Amalthea meets on her travels. What if, when Ahsoka died on Mortis, she spent the moments she was dead somewhere else, with time working differently there?

Angel (Angel the Series)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

They’re both so resilient and brave and snarky. They are both lost to themselves and to the world sometimes, but they persist in living and eventually finding meaning and purpose in their fight again. They’re unconventional and independent and caring and that’s what saves them, and what makes them good leaders who inspire others and connect to them in terrible circumstances. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream—they’re both psychic that way—or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe in this case it’s actually something like the hunting game Ahsoka got caught in during The Clone Wars, and this time they’re trapped together! Escaping and bonding ensues.

Michael Burnham (Star Trek: Discovery)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars EU)

Missy (Doctor Who)/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Ahsoka Tano and Missy switch bodies, with the end result being that Missy becomes Empress of the galaxy with Anakin as her Enforcer, until either the Doctor and Ahsoka manage to set things right or Missy gets bored and leaves. Either way, Ahsoka comes back to a mess and her relationship with Anakin is now more complicated. Idea taken with permission from selenak on LJ here.

I’d also love some other way for Missy to come and mess things up for them; she managed to trap souls after death to turn them into Cybermen after all, and you know Anakin’s thing about death. Maybe he’s trying to repeat what he did with Ahsoka, or even bring her back from the dead when he thinks he as Vader has killed her. Or maybe Ahsoka runs into the wrong portal—and Missy—when she’s navigating the World Between Worlds, given how it can take you anywhere you’re thinking of, and they get into a mess with Anakin. I didn’t request the Doctor here, but you’re welcome to bring them in if you like.

Thirteenth Doctor (Doctor Who)/Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones)

Michael Burnham (Star Trek: Discovery)/Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV)

Two destined heroes, unconventional within their context and struggling to balance their duties with their personal desires, capable of deep love, and hellishly dangerous in battle. A slight tendency to brood and cut themselves off because they are the One and nobody else can do what they can do. Then, they both experience the depression of having to keep living when they thought their life was over, they were done, and it would have come as a relief to be dead. Fuse their universes, have one of them visit the other in a dream—they’re both psychic that way—or have some portal shenanigans with the Force/Hellmouth. Maybe one of them is stuck in a temple via cryogenics or a spell and the other finds them in the ruins. Or, they run into each other when Buffy’s in that trap that turns homeless Earth people into slave labor; maybe she ends up on Tatooine instead, or he and/or Shmi got taken there at some point from Tatooine, and they escape together. Then they bond!

Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Buffy’s road is wide open after the show finale. Maybe it’s time for her to take a space-time roadtrip, helped along by a special mission with Twelve of course. Or maybe she runs across Twelve while trying to escape her life, such as in her adventures with L.A. and its hell dimension—during one of Twelve’s low moments—and it’s traveling together, being dragged into saving people, that brings them back to themselves eventually.

Arthur Pendragon (Merlin)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/James Norrington (Pirates of the Caribbean)

Aragorn (Lord of the Rings Movies)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Legolas (Lord of the Rings Movies)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Inara Serra (Firefly)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

Very friendly, yet reserved, in different ways; Inara is so composed and Buffy has to be strong to be the hero people need. They’d be really gorgeous together! What if the Slayers were a thing in the Fireflyverse, and Buffy needs a Companion to legitimize her mission? Or perhaps in this verse, there have been multiple Slayers for a while and they (and Potentials who aren’t Slayers) are the Companions, because they’re allowed and wanted most anywhere. Or Buffy is an immortal after the show, (you could base this on her healing so fast after that stab through her stomach in the finale) and she’s wandering around the galaxy when she’s picked up by Serenity’s crew. Or Buffy meets Inara in a Slayer dream.

Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

There’s so much ancient stuff popping up around the Hellmouth, what with all those cults and demons; what if Lara needs to trace one all the way to there? Perhaps she’s searching the temple Buffy finds the Guardian at, or the vineyard where the Scythe is set in its stone. Or Buffy, wandering the world after the Hellmouth is closed, needs an expert in the ancient in order to stop some apocalyptic ritual, or to get past some traps to protect an artifact before someone more nefarious does it first. Maybe Lara can be an official, regular contact Buffy likes to go see personally.

Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

These canons really lend themselves to fusion (though dimension travel is also good with me); Xena could pop right out of some temple after being trapped and preserved in it, or someone could summon her ghost. Or good old-fashioned Hellmouth shenanigans can do some transportation. I really like the episodes where Xena ends up in the modern world, and Sunnydale would be especially suited to her, but I’d also like Buffy surviving in ancient Greece, perhaps developing her own reputation, and getting dragged into some of the more supernatural adventures Xena and Gabrielle have. I think they’d be fascinated by each other, what with Xena liking good girls and Buffy liking bad everybody.

Ares (Xena: Warrior Princess)/Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)

As I said above, these canons could really work with fusing them into one universe, though dimension travel is also good. Maybe Ares breaks out of the temple he was trapped in during that modern Xena archaeology episode, or he’s just been up to his usual tricks this whole time. I could see this having a fun tension, since Buffy is a goody-good but very violent—and she changed the world! With the creation of all those Slayers. And she associates passion with pain, by season four anyway. I could see him being intrigued by how she keeps coming back to fight, and win, and those times she skirts the edge of her boundaries—imagine late-season Buffy meeting Ares. And/or maybe Ares is stuck as a mortal for some reason when they meet...

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Neither of them really asked for this life, for opposite reasons—Buffy losing what she had and Emma not believing in what she could have—but they found their purpose in it, and themselves. And they can’t resist trying to help others. Ignoring the timelines, what if post-season two Buffy and teen runaway Emma (or directly post-prison Emma) met? Or one of the Hellmouth’s villains connects this dimension to Storybrooke? Or we can go with the timelines and post-show Buffy makes a stop in Storybrooke during her wanderings.

Buffy Summers (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/Thor (MCU)

Tara Maclay (Buffy the Vampire Slayer)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

These two would really benefit from each other. They’ve both had hard lives with family, in opposite ways—a family that won’t let Tara go and families that won’t keep Emma—and they’ve both come out so reserved and not comfortable in trusting people will want them, though they desperately want bonds. Tara is so good at emotional labor, and Emma so good at sticking up for people who need it. Maybe they can run into each other trying to make a life after Emma’s prison stint and Tara’s left her family, or when Emma is in New York, and Tara senses the magic/the magical amnesia in her.

Alice Liddell (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

They both ended up wanderers, of different sorts; Alice left home willingly to have adventures with her beloved, where Emma was forced into a life of trying to survive alone and being left by her loved ones. Yet they aren’t all that different; Alice is losing hope until someone gives her a reason, and Emma manages to be a very emotionally healthy person who is more open than she thinks to changing her life once something happens to trigger that change for the better. What if instead of them spending so much time alone and hurting from loss, they found each other? Maybe Alice manages to find her and whisk her away, before they eventually find who Emma is and go break the curse together? Or they run into each other after Wonderland is saved and they bond over swapping stories?

Bill Potts (Doctor Who)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Bill Potts can travel anywhere and anywhen after becoming a water alien like Heather; what if she stops by the shore of Storybrooke, or the water of the wishing well? Or she and Twelve stop by during one of the endless multidimensional crises Storybrooke undergoes. Both she and Emma are the grounded but also very heroic types, and they would have stories to swap. Or not; maybe this is during the time when Emma has lost her memory of Storybrooke, and somehow she ends up at Bill’s bar, where they both get dragged into timey-wimey shenanigans that bring those memories back. Alternately, Bill goes to the Wish Realm where Emma is that self, and their adventures are what set things right there.

Thirteenth Doctor (Doctor Who)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time), Twelfth Doctor (Doctor Who) & Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

They all have a lot of tragedy between them, and they try to do good things for others while keeping a sort of distance between them; at the same time, those are completely different tragedies and distances, so I’d be fascinated to see them interact. I feel Emma could get on equally well with Twelve’s brusqueness and Thirteen’s friendliness. Similarly to the above prompt with Bill/Emma, Thirteen or Twelve could show up when the Tardis senses the timestream needs a little help, what with Storybrooke’s fucked-upness relative to time; perhaps they gets stuck there and Emma can help them become unstuck. What if this happens before Emma believes in magic and odd things in general? Meeting the Doctor could open her up to the wonders of the universe. Alternately, the Doctor goes to the Wish Realm where Emma is that self, and their adventures are what set things right there.

Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)/Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)

Maybe Xena is frozen again, or she and Gabrielle stay frozen so long they end up in Storybrooke? Or Emma time-travels to Xena’s dimension instead of to the moment of her parents’ meeting, and she has to rough it for a while; with her kind practicality and sensibility, Xena being a wandering hero, and neither of them being too comfortable with the mantle, I think they’d respect each other.

Sinbad (Sinbad 2012)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

James Norrington (Pirates of the Caribbean)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)/Mary Wardwell | Madam Satan (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina TV)

Seeing as Madam Satan’s role is to help corral Sabrina and her power, what if she ended up setting her sights on the Savior instead, with all her potential for light and dark? Maybe she comes across Emma when she can’t control her powers, or when she’s the Dark One and trying to get rid of the curse. She could cultivate Emma, maybe by setting her in a time loop and offering her help to get out of it.

Valkyrie (MCU)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

While they took different paths in life—Valkyrie enslaving people for the Grandmaster and Emma capturing people who run out on bail—they’re not too dissimilar: both are idealists gone astray, disillusioned and reserved and really badass. And hot. I feel like Storybrooke is due a crash landing from aliens, perhaps from a refugee ship; or maybe Emma should branch out into space adventures.

Diana Prince (DCEU)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)

Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)/Thor (MCU)

Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)/Joan Watson (Elementary)

They’re friendly, kind and caring souls who find themselves putting up with a lot of over the top crap from the people they’re surrounded by. And they’re both drawn to putting away criminals, one way or the other (even if the way to handle them in Storybrooke is not necessarily orthodox, to say the least.) Canon gives Emma a year in New York with Henry, or maybe—considering the Once Upon a Time universe—Elementary is a story realm Emma can wander in, like Wonderland and Alice’s Victorian home of origin, or Dorothy’s Kansas.

Nancy Drew (Nancy Drew - Any)/Scheherazade "Sadie" Keating (1931: SatLoP)

Brilliant young archaeology student in the 1930s needs to solve the mystery of what happened to her parents and why that robbery happened. She meets a brilliant girl around her age who can’t help but try to solve mysteries. Putting them together just sounds so fun! Maybe Nancy is sucked back in time and discovers that the mystery is somehow related to what’s going on in Sadie’s life! Maybe Nancy travels back in time, finds this brilliant and beautiful future archeologist she idolizes in the present, and adventures are had! Which could be an accident, or could work with an AU where time travel is possible and people do it to learn more about history! Or Sadie does the traveling, and Nancy’s on the case of solving why!

Fanny Price (Mansfield Park)/Newt Scamander (Fantastic Beasts)

Elinor Dashwood (Sense and Sensibility - Jane Austen)/Fanny Price (Mansfield Park)

Cara Mason (Legend of the Seeker)/Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess)

They would understand each other so well! Which might lead to friction or to respect, or both. If they could talk to each other, they might compare notes on how to best go about their redemption, especially since Cara’s doesn’t actually start with her veering away from Rahl and her Mord’Sith sisters. They can be with Gabrielle and the rest of the Legend of the Seeker cast when they meet, or alone (perhaps Richard isn’t an option for Cara, and Xena hasn’t yet met Gabrielle.) Or what if Xena has a past with the Mord’Sith? Clashing with them the way she did with the Amazons, or because she was a warlord threatening Rahl. Maybe Xena the warlord teams up with Cara to take down Rahl and rule together in his stead.

Ares (Xena: Warrior Princess)/Cara Mason (Legend of the Seeker)

It feels like these two would get along like a house on fire, with all the heat and destruction that implies. Cara seemed to have a little ambition beyond serving Rahl in the brief period she was still leading the Mord’Sith after his death and before they turned on her. She wanted to lead in the chaos of that moment; what if she did, and Ares took an interest? Or he coopted the Mord’Sith before that, undermining the Rahls as their patron, and he and Cara got rid of Rahl together? Or, I like their moments of not getting/not liking ordinary life—perhaps they meet while Ares is a mortal and Cara is on her new path, and there’s some bonding over their not quite fitting into their lives quite as smoothly; that could be funny or sweet, or both.

Gabrielle (Xena: Warrior Princess)/Cara Mason (Legend of the Seeker)
