Dear Creator,
Hi! So happy you’re here! I’m absolutely thrilled with you choosing one of my requests to base a work on for this exchange. Anything based on a combination of the requested tags that abides by my DNWs would work for me, so you don’t need to read this letter, but if you’d enjoy more details as to what I like, I hope it will be helpful. Apologies for this only being ready a week after assignments went out; my laptop suffered a mishap and this was put together using what time I could get with a borrowed one, and mobile.

I love the gentleness and intimacy I see in the Spock/Uhura relationship, and I love the bittersweet oddness of seeing your older/younger self (or your lover’s older self) from another life. I love alternate universes and selves and the Mirror Universe is such a tantalizing canon look at that! How do things like the easy dynamic between Spock and Uhura, and Spock's half-human angst, look in this universe! How and what do the characters learn about themselves and each other? If they met in the same place and at the same time, instead of being wholly switched like in the episode, how would that shake out? I'd also be into an extended stay for the characters' in each other's universes, trying to get by and/or get back home. If it's solely the Mirror verse version of the ship—what if they have a tenuous alliance? Are they careful with each other always, or can there be any level of trust? I'd love to see gentle dom Uhura with any or both of the Spocks.
Star Wars: Sith AU
Given the Sith mentorship style of the student turning on the master, and the Mirrorverse style of killing your way up the ranks, and the—very differently presented—conflicts in both series between aspiring o serenity and calm and giving yourself over to passion, it'd be fun to combine the two universes and have the Mirror characters be Sith, whether any or both the Prime characters are also Jedi or not.

I love the glimpse we see of their relationship before the drastic events at the beginning of the show, and the little things we get afterward, like Philippa's gift of the telescope, and Michael being able to tell when she was trying to stay present during a tough situation. Philippa's faith in her, and Michael's devotion, are so good. It would be wonderful to see them handle the kind of thing they were doing in the pilot, or other episodic Star Trek things, whether before Philippa's death or in a scenario in which it didn't happen and they had more time together. I'd also enjoy a scenario in which Michael did leave to become captain of her own ship with Philippa still alive, and they encountered each other again.

I fell in love the moment Philippa showed up and the look on Michael's face! The thorny devotion that crosses universes, the tension between the baggage they carry from the other versions of each other they knew, the old relationships that are now ended, and the new one they built throughout their time together. The excellent team they make. I'd love anything that worked with that. Maybe something where they have a chance to build on what they realize and admit to each other when they find a solution to Philippa's condition in season three, or something where Michael keeps meeting different versions of Philippa on a quest to find this one again.
Alternate Universe - Russian Doll Fusion
Time loops, like alternate dimensions, are a fun way to explore character and relationships. I love the element of Russian Doll where you have two people going through the loops, and through connection and helping each other they can break out of it and move forward in life after being stuck. It would be cool to apply to Michael and Philippa, who when they meet are stuck, to a certain degree, on who they were to each other in a life that has now ended, and who we see explode into new lives neither could have imagined.
Alternate Universe - Utena - Duelist & Rose Bride
I love Utena so much, and it would be so neat to see this concept with this ship! I imagine Michael as the idealistic duelist who wants to protect Philippa, not knowing exactly what she's getting herself into, with Philippa as the Rose Bride in a complicated world, with her own ideas of what her situation is.

I love fraught relationships!
I love that both Michael and Sarek share guilt for feeling they've failed each other, the reserve Michael tries to imitate, that she's more obviously vulnerable but that Sarek starts to allow more emotional reaching out too in the first season—even as it's part of trying to hide the new Klingon genocide plan when she's suspicious. The fact that they have a soulbond is excellent, with the sensing feelings, and their fight when Michael tried to get further into his mind was excellent, as well as the way it made things feel more equal for her.
I love that Michael and Spock share the trauma of being persecuted and almost killed, and then the isolation after Michael decides it's all on her, the pain of them trying to be better Vulcans separately. That despite that, and the related insecurities, they both look to take care of each other as adults in season two, with Michael's determined rescue of him and his finding empathy with her disorientation, and having his own lonely mission to save the universe that she won't let him do alone. And how even when they are arguing, there's still Michael disarming him with that jab about his beard! Last but not least, how he was going to give up his whole life to follow her into the future!
For either ship, I'd really love anything that emphasized their closeness, whether with the tension we often see or in a moment of peace. Shaving can be intimate and tense, and it would be fun to see that with them. It'd also be great to something like how canon forces one into a situation where they need help, only in this case they'd also have to admit to it and choose to go to the person they need help from, instead of the other person having to push the issue.

Alternate Universe - Russian Doll Fusion
Time loops, like alternate dimensions, are a fun way to explore character and relationships. I love the element of Russian Doll where you have two people going through the loops, and through connection and helping each other they can break out of it and move forward in life after being stuck. When we first meet these characters, they've been stuck in old relationship patterns that don't leave them happy with each other; it would be neat to see them work through that via the shared experience of a time loop.

I love this character and I want more of her going through her shit/the shit that gets thrown at her basically. She internalizes and suppresses a lot and that’s clear even early in season one, before the most dramatically awful part of her life has started to play out. So, her having to face things she’s suppressed, whether positive or negative or somewhere in-between, would be interesting. Alternate dimensions with alternate versions of yourself and the people you know can also be vehicles to see yourself differently, and I enjoy how much of the show is people (her parents, Maggie, Charlie) being foils and foreshadowing for her, not to mention her gradual disconnect from her own dreams and desires for herself, and her needing to find a connection to herself; those things could go well together.
Related to the theme of not handling her feelings, I’d be interested in fic about her coming to realize she’s in love with Craig, Lou, or Maggie, all connections she has on the show but feels distant from at different points during its run. Or hey, her being in love with her son, which she also has problems dealing with since she doesn’t feel she knows how to do it right.

For this request I’d like Vic to emerge from the end of the story more around as intact as she is at the end of the show.
So I was happy with how things went down in the show, but there’s just so much stuff going on in this dynamic that could be great story fodder for “what ifs.”
I love the funhouse mirror thing Charlie seems to be for Vic. I’m fascinated by how she seems to feel stuck in her various traumas and her head, and how he’s stuck even deeper through his self-justifications. Her feelings about having to be the one to stop him and being unable to escape him are justified in that he is a danger, but they are also tied up in her expectations of herself, having traded her dreams for the responsibility and put her sense of self into whether or not she can do that, feeling disconnected from her own life and fearing she’ll be unable to get back to it even when he’s gone. Meanwhile he’s already gone through that disconnection and embraced it, to tragic results, and unlike her he doesn’t see himself as unable to face responsibility for his life and his mistakes. He throws himself into feeding off kids and presents himself as the superhero who is saving them. He projects his flaws and actions onto Vic. And they both start the second season angry and needing to take control of their lives by taking each other out, in a manner that’s unhealthily obsessed and self-destructive, leaving their children feeling lost and abandoned.
I think that could work really well in a time travel story, since time travel and especially time loops are so often about being stuck and how to become unstuck. Alternate dimensions with alternate versions of yourself and the people you know can also be vehicles to see yourself differently, and I enjoy how much of the show is people (Vic’s parents, Maggie, Charlie) being foils and foreshadowing for her; her gradual disconnect from her own dreams and desires for herself, and her needing to find a connection to herself, her being self-aware of her flaws but also too sure they have doomed her, are echoed and contrasted in how Charlie is simultaneously disconnected from his more hopeful self while hiding from that in his insistence that his dedication to sustaining Christmasland is a wonderful thing connecting him to his treasured childhood dreams, and how he seems to experience varying degrees of awareness of how messed up he is even if he won’t hold himself responsible for it. They both started out dreaming of things that were hard to reach, trying to reach for them, and needing to feel supported in their attempts to escape into a better life. The show is dedicated to demonstrating both how they are naturally affected by their experiences and how they do still have choices that affect their fates, their loved ones, and who they become as people; time travel and alternate dimensions are a natural way to explore that further, to face suppressed issues and start to move on from them.
It’s also interesting, in light of how season one introduces a doomed suitor aspect to their dynamic, how season two’s first flashback for him has him called less of a man for being “obedient,” which is the same thing for which he disparaged Lou; it makes me think that a different version of him would be the kind of person Vic could’ve liked. He went from potentially being a little like Lou, a genuine nice guy, to his niceness being more a lie of self-presentation that he barely makes an effort to sustain with her in their one meeting before he decides to kill her. And yet if he hadn’t become the cold, bitter man who hurt her, he wouldn’t have lived to meet her at all.
Given how stuck they are with each other in the figurative sense even when the other is not currently a threat, what if they really were stuck together more literally? A soulbond they can’t escape, or just stuck with no other company? My poor lady D:

When I saw the episode with Cassie telling him how part of his problem was always wanting to see himself as leading even when he wasn’t, and her tossing him away, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the femdom potential. And I like the irony of how his pushing Cassie away in their marriage led to locking her away in his mind, followed up by the woman who released her—through killing him—pushing her own way into his mind with Cassie’s support and belief. The fact that Vic kills him twice, the eye contact the first time, and the way that when it comes to physical violence, she gets to beat on him more, combined with the above, makes me really want to see how the femdom scenario in this tag could happen.

I love the element of Russian Doll where you have two people going through the loops, and through connection and helping each other they can break out of it and move forward in life after being stuck. Putting these two in a Russian Doll type of situation...ouch. I can imagine how stressful that would be. Feel free to define "help" as something other than cooperation and reaching out; maybe they come to their own realizations separately but at the same time?

I love all these canons and characters, and it would be fun to have them meet! All of them have died and come back at least once, they all experience strange things, they're capable of much compassion and empathy, and they know what it's like to have an important and defining duty. An older Spock could be kind of a safe place for Buffy, a little like Angel, or Buffy herself could be immortal and in a place to offer understanding. Or they could both be older together! Vulcan philosophy and Jedi philosophy have some things in common but they're not exactly the same, and both Ahsoka and Spock have experienced conflicts with their place in their respective cultures.
I'd be happy with the kind of crossover where both things exist in the same canon, or with trying to take some elements from one to fuse into the other, so you could have Vulcans in Star Wars or Jedi in Star Trek, Slayers in Star Trek or Vulcans in Sunnydale.

How would the context of such an intense scenario as that last one affect them? Is the body-painting ritual a Vulcan thing, an Earth thing, or something from another planet? All of those things would be fun; I just love the intimacy of the act. I also love people feeling fond of each other in part because of their competence and intelligence, and sharing clothes and sitting on each other’s laps. And Uhura as a gentle dom!

If they met in the same place and at the same time, instead of being wholly switched like in the episode, how would that shake out? I'd also be into an extended stay for the characters' in each other's universes, trying to get by and/or get back home. If it's solely the Mirror verse version of the ship—what if they have a tenuous alliance? Are they careful with each other always, or can there be any level of trust? I'd love to see gentle dom Uhura with any or both of the Spocks.

I love the glimpse we see of their relationship before the drastic events at the beginning of the show, and the little things we get afterward, like Philippa's gift of the telescope, and Michael being able to tell when she was trying to stay present during a tough situation. Philippa's faith in her, and Michael's devotion, are so good. It would be wonderful to see them handle the kind of thing they were doing in the pilot, or other episodic Star Trek things, whether before Philippa's death or in a scenario in which it didn't happen and they had more time together. I'd also enjoy a scenario in which Michael did leave to become captain of her own ship with Philippa still alive, and they encountered each other again.

I fell in love the moment Philippa showed up and the look on Michael's face! Maybe something where they have a chance to build on what they realize and admit to each other when they find a solution to Philippa's condition in season three, or something where Michael keeps meeting different versions of Philippa on a quest to find this one again.

I love fraught relationships!
I love that both Michael and Sarek share guilt for feeling they've failed each other, the reserve Michael tries to imitate, that she's more obviously vulnerable but that Sarek starts to allow more emotional reaching out too in the first season—even as it's part of trying to hide the new Klingon genocide plan when she's suspicious. The fact that they have a soulbond is excellent, with the sensing feelings, and their fight when Michael tried to get further into his mind was excellent, as well as the way it made things feel more equal for her.
I love that Michael and Spock share the trauma of being persecuted and almost killed, and then the isolation after Michael decides it's all on her, the pain of them trying to be better Vulcans separately. That despite that, and the related insecurities, they both look to take care of each other as adults in season two, with Michael's determined rescue of him and his finding empathy with her disorientation, and having his own lonely mission to save the universe that she won't let him do alone. And how even when they are arguing, there's still Michael disarming him with that jab about his beard! Last but not least, how he was going to give up his whole life to follow her into the future!
For either ship, I'd really love anything that emphasized their closeness, whether with the tension we often see or in a moment of peace. Shaving can be intimate and tense, and it would be fun to see that with them. It'd also be great to something like how canon forces one into a situation where they need help, only in this case they'd also have to admit to it and choose to go to the person they need help from, instead of the other person having to push the issue.

I love this character and I want more of her going through her shit/the shit that gets thrown at her basically. She internalizes and suppresses a lot and that’s clear even early in season one, before the most dramatically awful part of her life has started to play out. So, her having to face things she’s suppressed, whether positive or negative or somewhere in-between, would be interesting. I’d also be interested in her learning that she can still want nice things no matter what her life circumstances or her mistakes. I’m fascinated by how she seems to feel stuck in her various traumas and her head, and I think that could work really well in a time travel story, since time travel and especially time loops are so often about being stuck and how to become unstuck. Alternate dimensions with alternate versions of yourself and the people you know can also be vehicles to see yourself differently, and I enjoy how much of the show is people (her parents, Maggie, Charlie) being foils and foreshadowing for her, not to mention her gradual disconnect from her own dreams and desires for herself, and her needing to find a connection to herself; those things could go well together.
Related to the theme of not handling her feelings, I’d be interested in fic about her coming to realize she’s in love with Craig, Lou, or Maggie, all connections she has on the show but feels distant from at different points during its run. Or hey, her being in love with her son, which she also has problems dealing with since she doesn’t feel she knows how to do it right.

For this request I’d like Vic to emerge from the end of the story more around as intact as she is at the end of the show.
So I was happy with how things went down in the show, but there’s just so much stuff going on in this dynamic that could be great story fodder for “what ifs.”
I love the funhouse mirror thing Charlie seems to be for Vic. I’m fascinated by how she seems to feel stuck in her various traumas and her head, and how he’s stuck even deeper through his self-justifications. Her feelings about having to be the one to stop him and being unable to escape him are justified in that he is a danger, but they are also tied up in her expectations of herself, having traded her dreams for the responsibility and put her sense of self into whether or not she can do that, feeling disconnected from her own life and fearing she’ll be unable to get back to it even when he’s gone. Meanwhile he’s already gone through that disconnection and embraced it, to tragic results, and unlike her he doesn’t see himself as unable to face responsibility for his life and his mistakes. He throws himself into feeding off kids and presents himself as the superhero who is saving them. He projects his flaws and actions onto Vic. And they both start the second season angry and needing to take control of their lives by taking each other out, in a manner that’s unhealthily obsessed and self-destructive, leaving their children feeling lost and abandoned.
I think that could work really well in a time travel story, since time travel and especially time loops are so often about being stuck and how to become unstuck. Alternate dimensions with alternate versions of yourself and the people you know can also be vehicles to see yourself differently, and I enjoy how much of the show is people (Vic’s parents, Maggie, Charlie) being foils and foreshadowing for her; her gradual disconnect from her own dreams and desires for herself, and her needing to find a connection to herself, her being self-aware of her flaws but also too sure they have doomed her, are echoed and contrasted in how Charlie is simultaneously disconnected from his more hopeful self while hiding from that in his insistence that his dedication to sustaining Christmasland is a wonderful thing connecting him to his treasured childhood dreams, and how he seems to experience varying degrees of awareness of how messed up he is even if he won’t hold himself responsible for it. They both started out dreaming of things that were hard to reach, trying to reach for them, and needing to feel supported in their attempts to escape into a better life. The show is dedicated to demonstrating both how they are naturally affected by their experiences and how they do still have choices that affect their fates, their loved ones, and who they become as people; time travel and alternate dimensions are a natural way to explore that further, to face suppressed issues and start to move on from them.
It’s also interesting, in light of how season one introduces a doomed suitor aspect to their dynamic, how season two’s first flashback for him has him called less of a man for being “obedient,” which is the same thing for which he disparaged Lou; it makes me think that a different version of him would be the kind of person Vic could’ve liked. He went from potentially being a little like Lou, a genuine nice guy, to his niceness being more a lie of self-presentation that he barely makes an effort to sustain with her in their one meeting before he decides to kill her. And yet if he hadn’t become the cold, bitter man who hurt her, he wouldn’t have lived to meet her at all.
Given how stuck they are with each other in the figurative sense even when the other is not currently a threat, what if they really were stuck together more literally? A soulbond they can’t escape, or just stuck with no other company? My poor lady D:

When I saw the episode with Cassie telling him how part of his problem was always wanting to see himself as leading even when he wasn’t, and her tossing him away, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the femdom potential. And I like the irony of how his pushing Cassie away in their marriage led to locking her away in his mind, followed up by the woman who released her—through killing him—pushing her own way into his mind with Cassie’s support and belief. The fact that Vic kills him twice, the eye contact the first time, and the way that when it comes to physical violence, she gets to beat on him more, combined with the above, makes me really want to see how the femdom scenario in this tag could happen.

An older Spock could be kind of a safe place for Buffy, a little like Angel, or Buffy herself could be immortal and in a place to offer understanding. Or they could both be older together! Vulcan philosophy and Jedi philosophy have some things in common but they're not exactly the same, and both Ahsoka and Spock have experienced conflicts with their place in their respective cultures.
I'd be happy with the kind of crossover where both things exist in the same canon, or with trying to take some elements from one to fuse into the other, so you could have Vulcans in Star Wars or Jedi in Star Trek, Slayers in Star Trek or Vulcans in Sunnydale.

Characters encountering the Hellmouth and/or other Buffy things would be fun! I would definitely be open to this tag applying to either ship, despite the obvious application to the one with Buffy in it; BTVS is just a neat setting and it would be cool to see you play with it.

I was thinking of it happening with them involved, or a scenario in which it’s the recent past for them, but if you’re interested in another idea, go for it!
Characters' old memories & lives replaced with new ones - effect isn't permanent
I really like the concept of people having their memories replaced but reconnecting with who they were and getting those back—especially if these people had some kind of significance to each other in their old lives. How would it be to know your family, friends, lovers, enemies again, spending time around each other, before remembering what you were? I’d like all the characters requested for be afflicted in this way. I’d be fine whether or not they did something to cause it, and if they did, whether any of it was intentional or not.
Note: I nominated this based on the Dark Curse from the Once Upon a Time show, but you don’t need to have watched it at all; it’s specifically worded this way to tell you what I want from it. This could involve so much, and I'd be here for all of it. From having to leave their actual whole lives and universe behind to changing up a career/calling/duty for a new life in the same universe, or the thing being something more strictly metaphorical but still huge, like a concept or a burden or an identity.

I'm so into both ships—the gentle intimacy of the AOS ship and the flirting and background pining of the TOS ship—and I love the part of AOS that has both Spocks meeting, so both ships meeting would be a dream! I'd be happy however you managed it that didn't violate a DNW—the only thing I can think of would be acknowledging that TOS Uhura would be dead by the time TOS Spock made it into the AOS universe, in which case I can say I would be fine with that, and if there's anything else I welcome questions through the mod. There's potential for fun, shenanigans, and sweetness (that may or may not also be a little bitter.) Meeting different versions of yourself and your loved ones is something I love.

It would be fun to see them in the clothes, like Art Deco-inspired fashion generally, or flapper Uhura specifically.
