Parallels (and contrasts) between characters and their journeys are a thing for me.
I like characters looking out for each other and rescuing each other, giving care and emotional support. Especially when women are the ones receiving care and support, getting their needs made a priority by their loved ones.
Canon divergence and role reversals are loved, though I also enjoy other AUs.

What if Buffy met these vampires when they were human? It would be fun to watch Buffy attempt to navigate a historical period; not her subject, but she is resourceful. There’s angst potential with all three pairings, lover or enemy. She might try to save any of them, or she could lay low and try to minimize the damage instead. Or maybe she comes across one of them after they’ve become vampires, and her presence draws their attention because she can’t help protecting people from them. Alternately, she and Angel (ensouled or not), or Darla, or Drusilla are sent back together when Buffy was in the middle of trying to stop some plot. They could be trapped in a loop then, repeating the day the vampire was turned.
Or their human selves are sent to the future, and Buffy has to keep an eye on them.

I loved the scenes we got of Buffy interacting with the younger Joyce and Giles. What if she actually got to see them in their young bodies, in the context of their time period? What would their interest in her—or her and Dawn—be, if any? Or maybe they’re sent to the future, and somehow coexist with their current selves. It would be interesting if they met teenage Joyce after her death; what if Dawn’s spell was something other than a resurrection? Or Buffy is caught in a loop trying to prevent her mother’s death, and Dawn is the only one who can reach her? What if the younger Giles came to Sunnydale during season six, when Buffy was depressed and his older counterpart had left?

What if Satsu got to go back and see the woman she loves in her younger days? Would she be able to resist trying to alleviate her suffering, or get in contact? Would she try to hide her trail but not be able to help Slaying, leaving a trail for Buffy to find? Maybe younger Buffy travels forward instead, and learns a bit more about herself. Alternately: Buffy and Satsu could travel back together, and it draws them closer. Or they’re stuck in a loop triggered by Buffy wanting Satsu but not letting herself be in the relationship.

Slayers have prophetic or otherwise mystical dreams. And Tara has featured in Buffy’s. What if after Kendra’s or Tara’s death, Buffy is projected into the time before they met via dreams, unable to reconcile herself with her deaths? With Kendra’s acceptance of her role as part of who she is, and Tara’s belief in accepting the natural order witches work with, their could be some interesting tension there. Maybe Buffy traps herself and them in a loop out of guilt, and they all need to work together to decide what the solution is.

What if Anakin came forward in time, to when Ahsoka and Vader were aware of each other? What if he then went down a dark path at knowing what he’s lost (whether or not he also knows who he’s become) and it shocks both Ahsoka and Vader into a new understanding (and perhaps partnership)? What would Anakin think of that? And/or, what if Anakin tries to change time/Vader’s confrontation with Ahsoka and cannot: maybe he and Ahsoka wind up somewhere else entirely with the World Between Worlds, or they have to live in the current galaxy, as secret or as open within the Rebellion as you like?
What if Vader, upon dying, goes back to when he tried to kill Ahsoka—as a Force Ghost, as a fully-healed self, in the suit, as you like—and they start to work out their issues then?
I really like the idea of something like “The Constant” for Anakin/Vader—where he keeps traveling between his present as Vader and his past as Anakin, losing track of himself, but eventually finding Ahsoka’s padawan beads and trying to make her his constant; only the time he goes back to is after she left him, and the current version of her is conflicted about connecting to who he has become.
Alternately, you could do this with Ahsoka: she’s flashing back, and perhaps trying to ground herself with Anakin/Vader—being reminded by the holo recording we see in Rebels, perhaps, and/or the knowledge of his identity which in canon she wants to deny—but the result depends on Vader’s response.
Anakin (as he lays dying, or perhaps earlier, as Vader, like after he thinks he’s killed Ahsoka), wishes he had made different choices. His wish is granted, but things work out much the same for the galaxy, and not necessarily better for his loved ones. Ahsoka has a grimmer fate—his own, as a Sith apprentice.
Group: Kaeden Larte/Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka loves them both a lot. I love her missing Anakin and I love how meeting Kaeden is part of her regaining the sense of purpose and belonging she lost when she left him. I’d love some AU where Anakin found himself on the run after time-traveling to the near future, and they welcome him into their relationship; alternately, perhaps Anakin was already with Ahsoka when she hid on Raada. Or Vader, after Malachor, time-travels to a year after the Empire begins and goes to Raada knowing he’ll find Ahsoka; Ahsoka has to juggle the safety of Kaeden and her newfound friends with the need to go see him and figure things out; she’s already the mystery woman who’s friendly but keeps at a certain distance due to her past, and such a situation would only amplify that.
Group: Dooku | Darth Tyranus/Ahsoka Tano
What if Ahsoka went into the past from Rebels and, trying to avoid meeting herself and anyone she was close to directly, fell into working with her old enemies by accident? Maybe she ends up working with Dooku instead; older Ahsoka gives him a shock, being wiser and more powerful, and he ends up reconsidering his allegiance to his master? Of course, eventually her Force presence and the shenanigans do bring her to the attention of her former self and her old master…Alternately, Dooku ends up going forward—perhaps in the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka looks on a scene with him and he can feel her gaze, so he investigates and she winds up pulling him through. He then finds himself adrift in a new galaxy, working with the last Jedi against the Empire they were all used to build, and more directly against an enemy Ahsoka once knew. I also like the idea of them being stuck in loops, but the Force-sensitives being able to feel impressions of all the previous loops, which affects their dynamics and feelings for each other throughout time.

One of the most intriguing get-togethers that hasn’t happened. In their own ways, they each represent Anakin’s legacy, and they have their own relationships to that and to him. Ahsoka is his path not taken, having faced her own capacity for darkness when she wanted vengeance and chose against it, and Kylo Ren believes he is continuing his work by choosing against his capacity for goodness; as they both turn away and leave him behind, they continue on their paths, one to remove herself from the galaxy at large until she is needed and the other to dominated it in an attempt to fulfill his own needs. Does he know his grandfather had a student? Would he go on a pilgrimage to Malachor and find her there, or find echoes that lead him to her? Perhaps Ahsoka is still around, physically or as Force Ghost, and she finds him, or he finds her? Or Ahsoka with Anakin, or Anakin alone. Or maybe he gets sent back in time without meeting her/them in person first, observing their relationship and developing an interest in her as well as his grandfather; or he just gets glimpses of her/them through the Force, perhaps dreaming. Maybe she trains him instead of or in addition to Luke, or a repentant Ben finds her when he’s trying to put what’s left of his destruction into a new life. Maybe Ahsoka’s in a frozen sleep of some kind in Malachor, or somewhere only Vader/Anakin could lead him to.

The concept of these two meeting is great! Ahsoka is touched by the light side, both in her choice to live in it and in how its very essence gave her back her life. Rey awoke to her power as the dark side rose. They both try to reach a dark-side user they see more in, and succeed, only to be betrayed by him, and they both face the hard choice of letting him go and coming in to their potential themselves, without any help. Ahsoka and Rey are the bright to Anakin and Kylo Ren. What if Ahsoka walked through another portal, when she knew it was time? Given Rey’s propensity to get into vision-triggering situations, what if she had one of Ahsoka, Anakin, or them both together? What if she wound up in a timeless space like Mortis or The World Between Worlds, and had a chance to interact with her/them, or go back in time? Or maybe her/their ghosts come to visit her, perhaps as part of or the end result of a dream-quest. Maybe Ahsoka’s in a frozen sleep of some kind in Malachor, or somewhere only Vader/Anakin could lead Rey to.

Star Wars seems futuristic but is supposed to be long, long ago...you could go either way! Send Anakin, Ahsoka, or Buffy to the future via a sacred site, such as a temple, whether they walk into it or get frozen in sleep. They are discovered and awoken by the character of that era, who ends up tasked with trying to find the purpose behind their presence because The Force and destiny. None of these characters would want to be limited by the rules of the world—or galaxy—they’d be walking into, and they’re action-oriented on top of it; does that lead to tension, recognition of a kindred spirit, or both? They’d have a lot to talk about, if they could get to the point of actually talking.

Buffy’s road is wide open after the show finale. Maybe it’s time for her to take a space-time roadtrip, helped along by a special mission with Thirteen of course. Or maybe she runs across Thirteen while trying to escape her life, such as in her adventures with L.A. and its hell dimension, and it’s traveling with Thirteen that helps her come back to herself eventually.
Bill Potts can travel anywhere and anywhen after becoming a water alien like Heather; what if she stops by the shore of Storybrooke, or the water of the wishing well? Or she and Twelve stop by during one of the endless multidimensional crises Storybrooke undergoes. Both she and Emma are the grounded but also very heroic types, and they would have stories to swap.
Similarly, Thirteen could show up when the Tardis senses the timestream needs a little help, what with Storybrooke’s fucked-upness relative to time; perhaps she gets stuck there and Emma can help her become unstuck. What if this happens before Emma believes in magic and odd things in general? Meeting Thirteen could open her up to the wonders of the universe.

With all the people Emma Swan has met, why not Brunhild and Xena too? Maybe Xena is frozen again, or she and Gabrielle stay frozen so long they end up in Storybrooke? Or Emma time-travels to Xena’s dimension instead of to the moment of her parents’ meeting, and she has to rough it for a while; with her kind practicality and sensibility, Xena being a wandering hero, and neither of them being too comfortable with the mantle, I think they’d respect each other. Or Emma heads back to meet Brunhild as a virgin queen ruling alone, and she appreciates Brunhild’s efforts to keep away male suitors, while Brunhild is intrigued by this foreign woman whose as physical as she is?
Group: Mary Wardwell | Madam Satan (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina)/Emma Swan (Once Upon a Time)
Seeing as Madam Satan’s role is to help corral Sabrina and her power, what if she ended up setting her sights on the Savior instead, with all her potential for light and dark? Maybe she comes across Emma when she can’t control her powers, or when she’s the Dark One and trying to get rid of the curse. She could cultivate Emma, maybe by setting her in a time loop and offering her help to get out of it.
Group: Jadis | The White Witch (Narnia)/Zelda Spellman (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina)
What if Jadis were a part of witch legend in Sabrina, and she stepped into Zelda’s life in the modern world? Maybe the portal out of Charn takes her to Greendale instead of London. They could engage in respectful (if perhaps grudgingly so on Jadis’ part) face-offs, taking the measure of each other. Or Zelda gets to be part of an adventure into Charn, and is the one to wake Jadis; purposely, for the sake of some witch ritual or prophecy. Alternately, she summons Jadis through time at the point right before her sleep/death.

Brilliant young archaeology student in the 1930s needs to solve the mystery of what happened to her parents and why that robbery happened. She meets a brilliant girl around her age who can’t help but try to solve mysteries. Putting them together just sounds so fun! Maybe Nancy is sucked back in time and discovers that the mystery is somehow related to what’s going on in Sadie’s life! Maybe Nancy travels back in time, finds this brilliant and beautiful future archeologist she idolizes in the present, and adventures are had! Which could be an accident, or could work with an AU where time travel is possible and people do it to learn more about history! Or Sadie does the traveling, and Nancy’s on the case of solving why!

What if Buffy met these vampires when they were human? It would be fun to watch Buffy attempt to navigate a historical period; not her subject, but she is resourceful. There’s angst potential with all three pairings, lover or enemy. She might try to save any of them, or she could lay low and try to minimize the damage instead. Or maybe she comes across one of them after they’ve become vampires, and her presence draws their attention because she can’t help protecting people from them. Alternately, she and Angel (ensouled or not), or Darla, or Drusilla are sent back together when Buffy was in the middle of trying to stop some plot. They could be trapped in a loop then, repeating the day the vampire was turned.
Or their human selves are sent to the future, and Buffy has to keep an eye on them.

I loved the scenes we got of Buffy interacting with the younger Joyce and Giles. What if she actually got to see them in their young bodies, in the context of their time period? What would their interest in her—or her and Dawn—be, if any? Or maybe they’re sent to the future, and somehow coexist with their current selves. It would be interesting if they met teenage Joyce after her death; what if Dawn’s spell was something other than a resurrection? Or Buffy is caught in a loop trying to prevent her mother’s death, and Dawn is the only one who can reach her? What if the younger Giles came to Sunnydale during season six, when Buffy was depressed and his older counterpart had left?
Group: Satsu/Buffy Summers
What if Satsu got to go back and see the woman she loves in her younger days? Would she be able to resist trying to alleviate her suffering, or get in contact? Would she try to hide her trail but not be able to help Slaying, leaving a trail for Buffy to find? Maybe younger Buffy travels forward instead, and learns a bit more about herself. Alternately: Buffy and Satsu could travel back together, and it draws them closer. Or they’re stuck in a loop triggered by Buffy wanting Satsu but not letting herself be in the relationship.

Slayers have prophetic or otherwise mystical dreams. And Tara has featured in Buffy’s. What if after Kendra’s or Tara’s death, Buffy is projected into the time before they met via dreams, unable to reconcile herself with her deaths? With Kendra’s acceptance of her role as part of who she is, and Tara’s belief in accepting the natural order witches work with, their could be some interesting tension there. Maybe Buffy traps herself and them in a loop out of guilt, and they all need to work together to decide what the solution is.

What if Anakin came forward in time, to when Ahsoka and Vader were aware of each other? What if he then went down a dark path at knowing what he’s lost (whether or not he also knows who he’s become) and it shocks both Ahsoka and Vader into a new understanding (and perhaps partnership)? What would Anakin think of that? And/or, what if Anakin tries to change time/Vader’s confrontation with Ahsoka and cannot: maybe he and Ahsoka wind up somewhere else entirely with the World Between Worlds, or they have to live in the current galaxy, as secret or as open within the Rebellion as you like?
What if Vader, upon dying, goes back to when he tried to kill Ahsoka—as a Force Ghost, as a fully-healed self, in the suit, as you like—and they start to work out their issues then?
I really like the idea of something like “The Constant” for Anakin/Vader—where he keeps traveling between his present as Vader and his past as Anakin, losing track of himself, but eventually finding Ahsoka’s padawan beads and trying to make her his constant; only the time he goes back to is after she left him, and the current version of her is conflicted about connecting to who he has become.
Alternately, you could do this with Ahsoka: she’s flashing back, and perhaps trying to ground herself with Anakin/Vader—being reminded by the holo recording we see in Rebels, perhaps, and/or the knowledge of his identity which in canon she wants to deny—but the result depends on Vader’s response.
Anakin (as he lays dying, or perhaps earlier, as Vader, like after he thinks he’s killed Ahsoka), wishes he had made different choices. His wish is granted, but things work out much the same for the galaxy, and not necessarily better for his loved ones. Ahsoka has a grimmer fate—his own, as a Sith apprentice.
Group: Kaeden Larte/Anakin Skywalker/Ahsoka Tano
Ahsoka loves them both a lot. I love her missing Anakin and I love how meeting Kaeden is part of her regaining the sense of purpose and belonging she lost when she left him. I’d love some AU where Anakin found himself on the run after time-traveling to the near future, and they welcome him into their relationship; alternately, perhaps Anakin was already with Ahsoka when she hid on Raada. Or Vader, after Malachor, time-travels to a year after the Empire begins and goes to Raada knowing he’ll find Ahsoka; Ahsoka has to juggle the safety of Kaeden and her newfound friends with the need to go see him and figure things out; she’s already the mystery woman who’s friendly but keeps at a certain distance due to her past, and such a situation would only amplify that.
Group: Dooku | Darth Tyranus/Ahsoka Tano
What if Ahsoka went into the past from Rebels and, trying to avoid meeting herself and anyone she was close to directly, fell into working with her old enemies by accident? Maybe she ends up working with Dooku instead; older Ahsoka gives him a shock, being wiser and more powerful, and he ends up reconsidering his allegiance to his master? Of course, eventually her Force presence and the shenanigans do bring her to the attention of her former self and her old master…Alternately, Dooku ends up going forward—perhaps in the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka looks on a scene with him and he can feel her gaze, so he investigates and she winds up pulling him through. He then finds himself adrift in a new galaxy, working with the last Jedi against the Empire they were all used to build, and more directly against an enemy Ahsoka once knew. I also like the idea of them being stuck in loops, but the Force-sensitives being able to feel impressions of all the previous loops, which affects their dynamics and feelings for each other throughout time.

One of the most intriguing get-togethers that hasn’t happened. In their own ways, they each represent Anakin’s legacy, and they have their own relationships to that and to him. Ahsoka is his path not taken, having faced her own capacity for darkness when she wanted vengeance and chose against it, and Kylo Ren believes he is continuing his work by choosing against his capacity for goodness; as they both turn away and leave him behind, they continue on their paths, one to remove herself from the galaxy at large until she is needed and the other to dominated it in an attempt to fulfill his own needs. Does he know his grandfather had a student? Would he go on a pilgrimage to Malachor and find her there, or find echoes that lead him to her? Perhaps Ahsoka is still around, physically or as Force Ghost, and she finds him, or he finds her? Or Ahsoka with Anakin, or Anakin alone. Or maybe he gets sent back in time without meeting her/them in person first, observing their relationship and developing an interest in her as well as his grandfather; or he just gets glimpses of her/them through the Force, perhaps dreaming. Maybe she trains him instead of or in addition to Luke, or a repentant Ben finds her when he’s trying to put what’s left of his destruction into a new life. Maybe Ahsoka’s in a frozen sleep of some kind in Malachor, or somewhere only Vader/Anakin could lead him to.

The concept of these two meeting is great! Ahsoka is touched by the light side, both in her choice to live in it and in how its very essence gave her back her life. Rey awoke to her power as the dark side rose. They both try to reach a dark-side user they see more in, and succeed, only to be betrayed by him, and they both face the hard choice of letting him go and coming in to their potential themselves, without any help. Ahsoka and Rey are the bright to Anakin and Kylo Ren. What if Ahsoka walked through another portal, when she knew it was time? Given Rey’s propensity to get into vision-triggering situations, what if she had one of Ahsoka, Anakin, or them both together? What if she wound up in a timeless space like Mortis or The World Between Worlds, and had a chance to interact with her/them, or go back in time? Or maybe her/their ghosts come to visit her, perhaps as part of or the end result of a dream-quest. Maybe Ahsoka’s in a frozen sleep of some kind in Malachor, or somewhere only Vader/Anakin could lead Rey to.

Star Wars seems futuristic but is supposed to be long, long ago...you could go either way! Send Anakin, Ahsoka, or Buffy to the future via a sacred site, such as a temple, whether they walk into it or get frozen in sleep. They are discovered and awoken by the character of that era, who ends up tasked with trying to find the purpose behind their presence because The Force and destiny. None of these characters would want to be limited by the rules of the world—or galaxy—they’d be walking into, and they’re action-oriented on top of it; does that lead to tension, recognition of a kindred spirit, or both? They’d have a lot to talk about, if they could get to the point of actually talking.

Buffy’s road is wide open after the show finale. Maybe it’s time for her to take a space-time roadtrip, helped along by a special mission with Thirteen of course. Or maybe she runs across Thirteen while trying to escape her life, such as in her adventures with L.A. and its hell dimension, and it’s traveling with Thirteen that helps her come back to herself eventually.
Bill Potts can travel anywhere and anywhen after becoming a water alien like Heather; what if she stops by the shore of Storybrooke, or the water of the wishing well? Or she and Twelve stop by during one of the endless multidimensional crises Storybrooke undergoes. Both she and Emma are the grounded but also very heroic types, and they would have stories to swap.
Similarly, Thirteen could show up when the Tardis senses the timestream needs a little help, what with Storybrooke’s fucked-upness relative to time; perhaps she gets stuck there and Emma can help her become unstuck. What if this happens before Emma believes in magic and odd things in general? Meeting Thirteen could open her up to the wonders of the universe.

With all the people Emma Swan has met, why not Brunhild and Xena too? Maybe Xena is frozen again, or she and Gabrielle stay frozen so long they end up in Storybrooke? Or Emma time-travels to Xena’s dimension instead of to the moment of her parents’ meeting, and she has to rough it for a while; with her kind practicality and sensibility, Xena being a wandering hero, and neither of them being too comfortable with the mantle, I think they’d respect each other. Or Emma heads back to meet Brunhild as a virgin queen ruling alone, and she appreciates Brunhild’s efforts to keep away male suitors, while Brunhild is intrigued by this foreign woman whose as physical as she is?

Seeing as Madam Satan’s role is to help corral Sabrina and her power, what if she ended up setting her sights on the Savior instead, with all her potential for light and dark? Maybe she comes across Emma when she can’t control her powers, or when she’s the Dark One and trying to get rid of the curse. She could cultivate Emma, maybe by setting her in a time loop and offering her help to get out of it.

What if Jadis were a part of witch legend in Sabrina, and she stepped into Zelda’s life in the modern world? Maybe the portal out of Charn takes her to Greendale instead of London. They could engage in respectful (if perhaps grudgingly so on Jadis’ part) face-offs, taking the measure of each other. Or Zelda gets to be part of an adventure into Charn, and is the one to wake Jadis; purposely, for the sake of some witch ritual or prophecy. Alternately, she summons Jadis through time at the point right before her sleep/death.

Brilliant young archaeology student in the 1930s needs to solve the mystery of what happened to her parents and why that robbery happened. She meets a brilliant girl around her age who can’t help but try to solve mysteries. Putting them together just sounds so fun! Maybe Nancy is sucked back in time and discovers that the mystery is somehow related to what’s going on in Sadie’s life! Maybe Nancy travels back in time, finds this brilliant and beautiful future archeologist she idolizes in the present, and adventures are had! Which could be an accident, or could work with an AU where time travel is possible and people do it to learn more about history! Or Sadie does the traveling, and Nancy’s on the case of solving why!
