I went to Borders! I got a fantasy, a funny book about Australia, and Loreena McKennitt's first CD. I'm just so enchanted by her music. Anyway, I also watched The Da Vinci Code. The book was so much better. The movie was slow and kind of boring, and way too melodramatic, without the book's fast-paced tension. The actor who played Leigh Teabing made it better, I think. His part was more likeable than the rest of the movie. There were also some really lame changes, like the addition of the Council of Shadows and the fact that Sophie barely makes any of the discoveries. The dialogue was pretty weak. I think that's what it's called.

My wife has read the book (Da Vinci Code) but I have not. I found the movie lacking but not slow or boring. She found it slow and boring. We think that I would have agreed with her if I had read it first. It was all new to me, so I didn't see what was left out, and had to keep track of it to know what was going on. I'd agree on the dialog.
